Our First Stop in Spain 🇪🇸 | Spending time in Roses Waiting Out Autumn Weather

In this episode of Sailing Helios, we explore the town of Roses, our very first stop after sailing into Spain. Roses has a relaxed holiday feel, but arriving in autumn means the crowds have thinned and the town feels calm and welcoming. After taking care of the essentials — new SIM cards and a supermarket restock — we spend time wandering through town, soaking up the atmosphere, and visiting the local church. Unsettled weather keeps us in Roses longer than planned, and we end up spending six quiet days anchored in the bay waiting for the right conditions to move on. When the forecast finally improves, we set sail again, following the rugged Costa Brava coastline south to a beautiful bay called Sa Riera, where we drop anchor for the night. A gentle episode of autumn sailing, small routines, and enjoying Spain at a slower pace.
