Into the Wild Sailing the Western Isles of Scotland

We set sail from Bangor, Northern Ireland, kicking off a two-week journey through the western isles of Scotland. Our first destination: the island of Gigha, where we planned to anchor in the little-known Craro Bay. With unusually calm conditions in the Irish Sea, we hugged the coast more closely than usual, passed by the island of Muck, and crossed the infamous Mull of Kintyre—only to receive an unexpected emergency call on the radio. When we finally reached our anchorage... we realised we weren’t quite as alone as we’d thought. An episode full of stunning scenery, unexpected encounters, absolute calm… and a touch of humour on board. And if a certain melody pops into your head while crossing the Mull of Kintyre… you’re not alone. Paul McCartney wrote a song of the same name, inspired by this very place where he lived for years, surrounded by the wind, the sea, and the solitude he loved.
