We're certainly not on our first sail, but we've been fortunate that all previous encounters with the sea floor have been with soft mud or sand. That was about to change though, thanks to an uncharted bommie. It was a low speed impact, but still enough to cause some damage to our mini keels. And since there aren't a whole lot of haul out facilities in the Indian Ocean, we chose to do another haul out in Thailand. For the second time in a month... Needless to say, we weren't loving the cruising life at the moment and things got a bit worse before they got better as the yard misplaced one of the supports and caused damage to our hull. Sigh... But the damage wasn't catastrophic and the rest of the haul out was super productive as the mini keels got fixed, our fiberglass repairs were finally done, we added more bottom paint, fixed our emergency escape hatches, got work done on our sail bag, replaced our lazy jacks and gave Starry Horizons a nice wash and wax.
