Ep19 | Will the bridge open in time?

Leaving the Mar Menor for what we hope will be the last time was an unexpected challenge. A freak current almost drags a local boat through before the bridge opens and we have to take avoiding action not to get caught up in it all. Happily exploring ashore means more than just finding the local shop now and we finally get to the salt flats to see some amazing flamingoes. We have now reached stage two of lockdown in Spain which means we can sail within the province of Murcia. We leave the Mar Menor (again) and head west for a brief, and very expensive, visit to Cartagena before anchoring in La Azohia. Meanwhile the bars and restaurants are opening, people are on the beaches and playing in the water. Life is finding a "new normal" as the seaside towns get ready for a summer season of sorts. We fix our sails and reconfigure the new anchor chain before heading out to sea. In a couple of weeks, we are told, we can sail to Ibiza. There is a sense of relief as the Spanish coast comes back to life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You Tube are now putting mid -role adds on videos, but there is a way to see the current videos with no adds at all before they get released to the public.
