In today’s video, I replace the engine battery on the boat and walk you through the full process step by step. What should be a simple job on land is never quite that simple on a boat. From disconnecting the old battery to securing the new one properly so it won’t move in rough conditions, everything requires extra care. A loose battery at sea is not an option. After installation, we check the charging voltage to make sure everything is working correctly — and we’re getting a healthy 14.27V, so the alternator is doing its job. Along the way, I also talk about another postponed project: replacing the marine waterproof carpets. After checking prices, I decided that for now it’s better to clean and maintain what I have and prioritize more important mechanical investments. There’s plenty of winter work ahead: Full engine maintenance Possible exhaust hose replacement Cleaning the exhaust elbow Replacing the anchor chain due to corrosion Boat life means constant maintenance, but every small job done properly brings peace of mind. Special thanks to Xavi Vilanueva for the support and collaboration.
