Goodbye Thailand… It’s Time to Sail My Old Boat Again!

My time in Thailand has finally come to an end, and this one was a little bittersweet. I spend my last day with Nikka at a beach club before saying goodbye before sunrise and beginning a very long journey home. First came a 12-hour trip by van, ferry, and another van to Bangkok, where I had to drop the dogs off so they could begin their own flights back to the United States. Then it was my turn — nearly 30 hours of travel and three different flights before finally making it home. A few days later, Cougar and Merlin were delivered to me, and I can’t tell you how good it felt to have the crew back together again. But I wasn’t home for long. Next stop: Maryland, where my old CT56 sailboat has been sitting for more than a year. It’s time to get her cleaned up, repaired, and ready to sail again because I have a new plan for her… This winter, I want to sail her south to the Caribbean.
