Welcome aboard Salloo! Ou 60ft Former Police Vessel! We bought Salloo sight unseen at an eBay auction, and now that we've had the chance to really explore her, we're discovering just how much potential is hidden inside this incredible vessel. In this episode, we're going to show you exactly why we are so excited about this boat and its upcoming transformation. From her 1-inch-thick fiberglass hull and enormous usable spaces, to her three levels, huge fuel and freshwater capacity, powerful engine room, stabiliser options and massive storage areas… the more we uncover, the more excited we become about the refit. Salloo isn't perfect, and THAT'S exactly what makes this project so exciting! We're going to be able to choose the systems, engines, stabilisers, batteries, electronics and equipment that will turn this former Federal Police vessel into the long-range family cruising boat we've always dreamed of. And the space is incredible. We're planning for three cabins, a dedicated office, a dedicated laundry and a huge lazarette/workshop with room for dive gear, water toys and all the equipment that comes with our life on the water. With three distinct levels: the accommodation deck, mid-level pilothouse and flybridge, Salloo gives us an incredible amount of usable space while still having that classic, purposeful vessel design. And then there's the history. This is a seriously well-built boat with a really interesting past and history on the Northern Territory Police Force, and we can't wait to give her a refit and a completely new chapter.
