Acorn to Arabella - Journey of a Wooden Boat - Episode 104: The Last Oak Plank!

Steve made the last oak plank! Yes, we know, we've said it before (and might say it again... haha). But we are planning for this to be the last full length oak plank we put on the hull. After setting up our new planer with Joe and Grandpa, while I was in Costa Rica, it was now time to start getting us closer to our planking party. There was still one more plank to put on the boat before we could switch to cedar. So, getting this last one done will set us up well to be able to cruise into the cedar planking. These have been a lot of work. Much more than we anticipated and we are very happy to be almost done with them. They are heavy, difficult to maneuver and they can be tough to fair. We are very much hoping that the cedar planks will be much faster to work through.
