Nossa lista de necessidades/melhorias no Planckton não é pequena... desta vez saímos do Brasil sem balsa salva vidas, pensando em adquirir aqui no Caribe. Quando estávamos em lockdown em Antigua, perguntando no grupo de cruzeiristas, demos sorte, e ganhamos uma balsa Viking para 6 pessoas, perfeita, do jeito que queríamos. A balsa estava com a revisão vencida, e nos indicaram a Sea Safety Service em Grenada. Ficamos positivamente surpresos com a qualidade do serviço prestado. Fomos convidados para uma conversa sobre segurança e estratégia de abandono do barco. Ficamos mais de 2 horas com o Donal, que explorou o tema em detalhes. Nossa própria balsa estava aberta, pudemos entrar, ver todos os itens e fazer perguntas... e o Donal nos conta, entusiasmado :"Meu trabalho não é revisar balsas, meu trabalho é salvar vidas!"

Transatlantik ist ein Traum. Aber er hat sehr praktische Bedürfnisse: Diesel, Strom und Leute, die nicht beim ersten Squall ihre Frühstückspläne ändern.

Although Catalina Yachts did a great job designing the boat many years ago, I found some improvements to make. Check out my remodel work done to the boat. I added a urinal in the boat which is a great alternative to a head with a holding tank. I built additional space for a mini fridge and freezer as well as a fold down table that doubles as a work desk. My custom boat mattress sits on a larger bed platform than original and I have shore power to charge my battery and power my fridge, heater, and lights. Water from the harbor with a Seaflow water pump, and of course the best feature of the Catalina 25 is the pop top. Easy to use, provides good air flow and enough head room to stand up in. I can't imagine living on a small sailboat any better than on this one! Hope you enjoy the tour.
