Learn about the investment plans for Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina (BHSM). This 23-acre mixed-use facility supports maritime industrial activities in the East Boston Designated Port Area with commercial marine and working waterfront industries as well as public amenities like the ICA Watershed, Seabiscuit café and Eastie Fit. With new investments and program expansion, BHSM will reconstruct bulkheads and piers, purchase a new boat lift, build three smaller and one larger shed for vessel repairs and maintenance, expand the marina, expand the Harborwalk, improve pedestrian access, and create a public container village. We leave Garry’s Anchorage and begin our journey up the incredible K’gari (Fraser Island) coastline. Our first stop – South White Cliffs. With great holding and protection from the ever-reliable Easter weather in Queensland, it’s the perfect place to tuck in, reset, and get a few important jobs done onboard. Because let’s be honest… boat life is never just sailing. While at anchor, we: – Repair the sail bag using a new speed sewing awl – Deal with (yet another) toilet issue… will it ever end?! – Reroute freezer cabling under the saloon floor to free up space and improve the setup And of course, no productive day happens without good food – Kym shares a go-to frittata recipe that keeps everything running smoothly. You’ll find more of our simple boat recipes over on Instagram. This is just the beginning of our K’gari coast adventure. Next episode – we continue exploring further north along this wild and beautiful stretch of coastline. Thanks for watching. This week aboard our sailboat was all about progress — tackling a mix of big and small refit projects to keep our boat seaworthy and ready for adventure! 🔧 Project 1: We measured for new sheaves in the boom and mast, and for new turnbuckles and jaws for our standing rigging — important steps toward a smoother and safer rig. 📡 Project 2: We mapped out the path and measured the VHF cable run, crawling through deck lockers and under the nav desk to trace every inch. 💧 Project 3 (The Big One): A leaking valve repair turned into a major fiberglass project. Working in tight spaces, we cut out the old valve and glassed in a new fiberglass tube. Using a balloon to apply pressure kept epoxy under control — messy but effective! The leak is finally sealed, and the job’s done. 🚰 Project 4: We continued the PEX plumbing installation for the freshwater system into the galley — another step toward completing the refit. After a week of hard work, fiberglass dust, and plenty of crawling into tight spaces, it feels great to see real progress on the boat. ▬ keywords ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #Tahanea #Fakarava #FranzösischPolynesien #Gesellschaftsinseln #Atoll #Südseeatoll #Guestimator #Slacktime #Tuamotus #IslesTuamotu #MarquesasIslands #ilesmarquises #archipeldestuamotu #FrenchPolynesia #französischpolynesien #Nuku-Hiva #Ua-Huka #Ua-pou #Hiva-Oa #Tahuata #Fatu-Hiva #pazifik #pacific #doldrums #langfahrt #barefootroute #Barfussroute #blauwasser #blog #bluehorizon #boatlife #boat #boot #bootfahren #bootsprofis #cruising #expedition #fahrtensegeln #freunde #Glück #Hurrikan #huricane #hurricaneseason #hurrikan #karibik #katamaran #lavagabonde #lagoon40 #langfahrt #langfahrtsegeln #marianoa #ozeansegeln #plan #planinternational #roundtheworld #circumnavigation #reiseblog #reisen #sailing #schiff #schnorcheln #segelabenteuer #segelboot #segeln #segelnüberdenatlantik #segelyacht #segler #sommer, #sonnenuntergang #strand #summer #sunset #tobago #traum #travel #umdieweltsegeln #unterwegs #vlog #vlogger #weltreise #weltumsegelung ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Schnell ist mir klar, dass ich wieder einmal auf mich allein gestellt bin. Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/sqJxHm0D5MY Today we're kicking off a project that our tiny Captain has been eagerly awaiting since we first explained to her that we were going to build a new boat. At first glance it appeared to be pretty straight forward, but once we started diving into it and saw just how many options and considerations there are, we quickly realized that this (like most things in boat building) was not as simple as it seemed. But also like most things in boat building, you just have to take things one step at a time and answer each question at it comes, and that's exactly what we're up to in this week's episode! We also say goodbye to Conor in this week's episode, and we absolutely HAVE to give him a proper shout out and soooo much love for all his help during these three weeks...and of course to Dan and the guys, Bill, all you guys watching right now for making this not only possible, but SO freaking fun and rewarding! Meet 'The Swallows' - The Swallow Yachts Association Join Ian and Claire as they share their love for sailing and their plans for the rest of the summer's sailing. In this video, they talk about their first steps into the sailing world and why, after attending the raid last year in Mylor Ian decided that the BRE is "The best day boat you can buy". You’ll get a glimpse into their experience sailing as a couple, their learning journey, and the joys of cruising in a BayRaider. Having had the pleasure of sailing with them this year, I can vouch for their warmth, enthusiasm, and insightful perspectives on Swallow Yachts and the magic of sailing.
