Hier müssen wir nun warten und das Boot fällt hier trocken. Bei der Erkundung der nahen Umgebung machen wir eine interessante Entdeckung im Watt. It's time to switch out our propellers and this is an upgrade we have been longing to make for a few years now. We've been dragging our old fixed props behind our boat for more than 25,000 nautical miles and they cause some serious drag, slowing us down and making our passages way less efficient. We knew we wanted to move away from fixed props, but there are always drawbacks to the alternative offerings of folding or feathering propellers so when we found these GORI props, they ticked all the boxes for us. We will still retain maximum power when motoring in forward AND reverse, but we'll also have the benefits of maximum efficiency when we're sailing and the props fold away, with decreased drag and potential to catch on loose lines or items in the water. We'll test them for real when we get back in the water and start sailing again, but we're super excited to finally make this change. First off, we need to figure out how to remove our old props and while we're at it we're going to change our cutlass bearings too - and that's a whole story in itself. ⚓️🎨 Rien ne se passe jamais comme prévu à bord de Joy ! Aujourd’hui, j’étais partie pour remettre en place le plancher (après avoir peint la cale) et attaquer la cabine avant… mais évidemment, les plans ont changé ! 😅 Résultat : j’ai fini par repeindre la baille à mouillage 💪 et tant qu’à faire, j’en ai profité pour bricoler un peu partout ! Gibraltar is now in our sights, but the forecast is giving another westerly front heading across from Morocco. Headwinds of up to 30-35 knots are expected, accompanied by a good 8-metre swell. We're putting the safety of our crew and our boat first, by choosing to make a stopover in Almerimar. A well-deserved break that will allow the crew to rest and revictual the boat. Les défenses ou pare-battage se salissent rapidement, traces de ragage, souillures de fumées, de moteur, dépôts divers. PARBATT' est la solution contre toutes ces salissures. Ce produit prêt à l'emploi s'utilise pur. On l'applique à l'aide du spray sur toute la zone à nettoyer. Avec une éponge à grattage souple, on vient ensuite nettoyer la surface. Pas besoin de beaucoup frotter, le produit dégraisse et agit contre la saleté. Et point très important, il n'altère pas la surface du pare-battage. Conçu à base végétale et sans solvant, il n'endommage pas le PVC. On rince ensuite à l'eau claire pour retrouver l'éclat d'origine.
