I know many of you have been very curious about our swap from a manual to a composting head, and I wanted to share with you the install process in detail. The ventilation system turned out to be the trickiest part (mainly because we wanted to utilize old, obsolete systems to hide as much of it as we could for aesthetic results). But, other than removing the … smelly items, this was really a rather simple install, one I was able to handle primarily on my own while Phillip was tackling the rudder post reinforcement and other projects, and one we are very pleased with. Phillip and I have been weekend cruising for about six months now using the composting head and have found it to be a wonderful new addition to our life goal of keeping things simple. There is no more pumping after each flush, no more pumping-out at the dock, no more head smell in our boat, no more sloshing (could bust a seam any day) turd tank, and we’ve opened up plenty of new, now much more freshly-smelling lockers for storage. Oh, and we closed a thru-hull (the one for the macerator). So, we are down to only four thru-hulls now on our boat and thrilled about it. I told you our motto: K.I.S.S. If any of you are considering changing your manual head on the boat to a composting head, Phillip and I highly recommend it. I can tell you this: We haven’t heard of a single sailor going from composting BACK TO a manual head. That should tell you something. We were also super pumped about the many other perks of removing the old manual head: all the new (clean, fresh, non-stinky) storage it opened up, closing one of our thru-hulls (to get us now down to only four thru-hulls, just four - whoo hoo!) and no more trips to the dock just to pump out, in fact no more pumping out again ... ever! Kampen mot Försäkringskassan och att stå upp för våra rättigheter har varit en riktig energitjuv i 2års tid. Jag har i alla samtal känt på mig att det kommer bli en kamp, bevisbördan ligger hos oss hela tiden att visa att vi har rätt till socialförsäkring i Sverige. Försäkringskassan har till och med ifrågasatt om vår segelbåt som är med i Svenska fartygsregistret faktiskt är ett fartyg? En segelbåt är tydligen inget fartyg det är ju en segelbåt! Och de har blandat in så många konstiga resonemang i besluten som ej går att hitta i socialförsäkringsbalken så jag blir matt ju mer jag grottar ner mig i detta. Jag ringde Försäkringskassan säkert 50 gånger när vi planerade detta men jag fick olika svar varje gång men lade pusslet bit för bit och skickade in en anmälan om flytt utomlands. Vi blev socialförsäkrade till en början men sen nekades hela familjen socialförsäkring. Det beslutet har vi omprövat utan att de ändrade sitt beslut. Men hittade sedan en blankett som vi fyllde i som gjorde att både jag och Niklas blev socialförsäkrade. Observera att INGA uppgifter har ändrats, vi har alltid fört samma resonemang till Försäkringskassan och de kunde inte upplysa oss om denna extra blankett även om jag vid flertalet tillfällen frågat vad vi ska göra för att fortsatt omfattas av svensk socialförsäkring. Nu är det bara barnen som inte är socialförsäkrade, vilket är rätt konstigt när båda deras föräldrar är det. Så de befinner sig i ett otillåtet vakuum nu sedan sex månader tillbaka. Kanske finns det en blankett jag ska fylla i för dem så de vipps blir socialförsäkrade? Tips mottages gärna 😅 Nu är iallafall överklagan inskickad, ett välskrivet dokument på 36 sidor 😆 och jag tänker släppa detta för tillfället. Jag har ju kanske 12månader på mig innan jag behöver tänka på detta igen 🤣 Nu är det upp till Sverige att visa vad vi går för 🇸🇪

We visited an animal reserve in Christchurch, New Zealand. I only filmed a little footage in horizontal movie format. The rest will be broken up into a dozen vertical shorts. If you love seeing cute animals, check out our shorts from Willowbank Reserve NZ and Cremshaw Wildlife Park in Perth, Australia. The capybaras were so much bigger than we thought they would be. They were very chill. They are the largest mammal in the rodent family. Mammals are warm-blooded, have fur and nurse their young. Rodents have specialized self-sharpening teeth. The eels were very happy to be hand fed. There was one very large blue-eyed eel and several medium sized eels. The ducks tried to get in on the action but were disappointed we did not have any duck feed for them. They were quite a few deer at this animal reserve but they were tucked away under the shade of a willow tree.
