Today I tackled one of the worst jobs on our sailboat… and it nearly made me throw up. Boat life isn’t always sunsets and sailing — sometimes it’s the dirty, hidden work that nobody talks about. This job pushed me to my limits, but it’s all part of keeping our floating home seaworthy. Join us as we dive into the not-so-glamorous side of sailing and share the reality behind life aboard our 45ft Jeanneau.

After a month away from the boat, we’re finally back — and diving straight into projects. This episode starts with Jeff flying back to Minnesota to reunite with the family for Christmas and help pack up our house as we prepare to sell it. From there, it’s back to the boat to reassemble our Gori folding props, splash back into the water, and get moving again. Most of this episode is spent building the scaffolding and structure for our new solar arch and mounting solar panels as we continue upgrading our electrical system for full-time liveaboard life. It’s one of those projects that’s probably fine… right? We also take some time to explore Fort Pierce and Riviera Beach, Florida, as we slowly make our way south and continue learning what it really takes to live aboard a sailing catamaran as a family. Una bella giornata di vela in compagnia di un vecchio amico, due bordi sul campo di regata della Vesuvio Race ed un bel pomeriggio in rada solitaria a Vico Equense sul suo PERVERSION 37 teknocantieri, barca di Costruzione solida e interni confortevoli adatti alla crocera d’altura, dotata di albero passante sartie volanti e stralletto. Con una prua fine e slanciata, ma forme piene caratterizzate da uno specchio di poppa a “V” stretta, il Perversion è un elegante cabinato da crociera che ha ripreso diverse soluzioni da regata (Ior) per ottenere uno scafo veloce. Progettato da Gigi Squarci nel 1980 per la Teknocantieri di Stella (Sv) è molto solido (ha anche due paratie anticollisione), stabile e adatto alla navigazione d’altura. Dotato di albero passante, ha sartie volanti e stralletto; generosa la superficie velica e completa l’attrezzatura di coperta, con 8 winch. The boats diesel engine, a Japanese farm engine, marinized, was hard to find parts for, and my batteries needed to be helped, with some being OK and others not.
