Am Mittwoch, d. 23.03.2022 konnte ich im Ankermanöver vor der Marina Riviere Sens an der Süd-West-Ecke von Guadeloupe plötzlich nur noch nach Backbord nicht aber nach Steuerbord manövrieren. Nachdem wir doch irgendwie den Anker sicher ausgebracht hatten, stellte sich sehr schnell das Undenkbare heraus: wir hatten den Backbordpropeller verloren. ▬ Über diesen Film ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Nun galt es vor allem die Ersatzteile zu organisieren. Nach einigem hin und her entschied ich mich sowohl den Propeller als auch den RopeCutter direkt bei den jeweiligen Herstellern zu bestellen. Mit Hilfe der Marinieros konnten wir am Montag darauf also am 28.03.2022 in die Marina verholen. Am selben Tag wurden sowohl bei AmbassadorMarine in GB als auch bei Flexofold in DK die entsprechenden Ersatzteile geordert. Nun begann vor allem das große Warten welches wir uns mit Erkundungstouren auf Goudeloupe vertrieben haben. Die Lieferzeiten waren sehr, sehr unterschiedlich und dadurch geprägt, dass es generell kaum möglich ist mit dem jeweiligen Fahrer direkten Kontakt aufzunehmen oder z.B. die Mobilfunknummer zu hinterlegen. So drohte eine Lieferung bereits wieder an den Absender zurückgesandt zu werden, da deren Annahme angeblich zweimal abgelehnt worden sei – wie absurd ist das denn. Aufklärung verschaffte Marina von der Ile Segal mit Ihrem Engagement in französischer Sprache. Herzlichen Dank. Die eine Lieferung dauerte eine gute Woche, die andere 14 Tage. Der Schock saß aber tief als sich herausstellte, dass die eine Lieferung unvollständig war. Allein um dies zu monieren, vergingen wieder 4 Tage – es war zum wahnsinnig werden. Die Nachlieferung brauchte von Großbritannien nach Guadeloupe dann keine 2 Tage. Wenn man will, dann geht das auch. Wenn man will … Habt Ihr konkrete Fragen? In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. In 2013 we were making our way up the Oregon coast when our friends the RV Geeks reached out and told us “you gotta stop by Waldport, we built a website for McKinley’s campground and they’d love to have a video to share about crabbing.” We did a little research on the campground and it turned out they sell shellfish licenses, rent boats, crab rings and everything else we’d need to “do it ourselves”. We were hooked on the idea and we promptly directed our RV north. The Oregon coast is simply breathtaking and it was our first crabbing experience and it was perfect! This is Episode 55 of our adventure. Our sixth week sailing the west coast of France. We did so much this week that I've had to make two videos, this being part 2. In this video we get up before first light and made our way to Vannes, heavily relying on our tech and the lights around us. We then have a very narrow river to navigate with only a few cm of water under the keel. It was worth it as we arrive in the beautiful city of Vannes with street after street of medieval buildings. We share our time here with a running event taking place right outside our boat. Hugh rounds off the week trying to fix the leak in our water tank. We are a family of five with plans for an epic adventure, sailing around the world. We have bought a boat we have to gut it, rebuild it, sell all of our possessions and have the guts to cast off.
