In this episode we sail to an a bit unknown Italian island despite it has played a role in history, has crystal clear water, lush green hills and can offer high altitude adventures but we begin with boat work at anchor in Portovecchio on Corsica before we make the 90 NM over night crossing to this hidden gem. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our sailboat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is sail the Mediterrainean Sea and really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager. Come explore caves in Dominican Republic with our family. We live and travel full time on our sailboat.

We started to walk a steep path into the mountains on the westside of Limnos. We followed a steep trail uphill for about half an hour, winding through the rocky landscape. Along the way, we were rewarded with beautiful views over the Aegean Sea. Suddenly we saw a white cross standing on the highest peak — and there was the cave where the small blue-and-white chapel was hidden. This church has existed since the 13th century, built by monks beneath an enormous rock face. It has no roof; symbolically, the sky itself forms the ceiling. No decoration, no tourist crowds — only stone, air, and meaning. An elderly man was sweeping the open-air chapel with a broom, clearing away the dust the wind had blown inside. He tidied everything, greeted us, and quietly walked away. Then we were alone — that’s how peaceful it is here. I found it one of the most special places I have seen in Greece. We flew with our drone around the cave and the surrounding mountains, while you can see the 13th century open air church in white and blue colors.

Wir liegen noch immer im kleinen Hafen von Schlutup bei Lübeck. Eigentlich wollten wir längst unterwegs sein – auf dem Weg nach Frankreich. Doch manchmal hat das Meer andere Pläne. Zwischen Reparaturen, langen Arbeitstagen und über 30 Grad vergeht der Herbst fast unbemerkt. Das Funkgerät muss umgemeldet werden, die Elektrik wird überholt und Simon baut neue Batterien ein. Währenddessen übt Valerie auf unserem kleinen Dinghi „313“ – benannt nach Donald Ducks Auto. Trotz aller Erschöpfung gibt es auch schöne Momente: Yoga-Stunden, Backen an Bord, Spaziergänge mit Budhi über Felder und Wiesen und Frühstückseinladungen bei Opa Hartmut, die sich anfühlen wie Weihnachten, Geburtstag und Muttertag zusammen. Doch nichts läuft so, wie wir es geplant hatten. Bestellungen kommen nicht an, Termine verschieben sich, und kurz bevor wir endlich ablegen wollen, passiert ein Unfall im Hafen.
