Nous sommes en relation avec lui depuis quelques jours par WhatsApp, il nous a été conseillé et doit passer en fin de journée pour nous donner son avis. Côté tribord, le verdict vient de tomber : une vis de brisée, les sept autres desserrées et le dumper cassé. D’après notre dépanneur, très optimiste, tout ça n’est pas bien grave. Pour un résultat optimum, selon lui, nous devons rester à l’eau pour qu’il répare jeudi. 28 novembre 2022, lundi, nous avons dû reprendre rendez-vous pour sortir Black Lion sur le tarmac. Manni nous a planté ! De retard en indifférence, il nous a laissé poireauter 6 jours, sans aucunes excuses, pour finalement se pointer ce matin, devant la darse, en s’étonnant que l’on est pris la décision de nous débrouiller sans lui ! Fallait bien avancer ! Nous ne pouvions plus rester là, à attendre indéfiniment. Alors, Cyril a pris les devants ! N’en pouvant plus de tergiverser sur la façon de réparer ces satanés Sail Drives, il a dans un premier temps, remonté notre propulseur tri-bord, le moins endommagé, afin qu’il puisse nous aider à manœuvrer jusqu’au chantier. Puis en attendant la sortie, voulant avancer sur les futurs travaux à terre, nous nous sommes lancés dans le démontage de l’embase achetée d’occasion quelques semaines plus tôt. Et devinez quoi ? Irrécupérable ! 500 euros envolés ! Le corps qui devait nous servir à remplacer le nôtre, est complètement corrodé de l’intérieur, oxydé, scellé avec tout le mécanisme. Blacky est calé entre les deux quais de levage. L’angoisse s’estompe. Nous avions pourtant qu’un demi mille à faire. En d’autres circonstances, nous aurions été juste préoccupés par la sortie de l’eau, mais aujourd’hui nous avions de quoi être sou-cieux ! Un lion boiteux, un guindeau récalcitrant, quelques rafales, tout était concilié pour nous stresser. Aidés de deux annexes, tout s’est très bien passé. Les sangles sont positionnées, le travel lift s’actionne, notre félin s’élève…

What a week, Carla gets her thumb caught in the door, Ouch... that hurts! And Simon cut his finger on the circular saw. So yes, luck wasn't really on our side this week. But we have to keep going as we have a lot of work to be finished in the aft cabin! Things are starting to look much better there as we manage to finish the white walls and start on the Oak panels. The bed is also nearly done. Carla has cleaned the diesel tank which was a very nasty job but looks very good now. Anyway Simon is putting extra filters to play on the safe side. The goal for next week is to finish all in the back cabin including the bathroom. it is a bit ambitious but it is our goal and we are confident that we can do it.Follow our blog with our daily adventures on Facebook . We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.
