Yes unbelievable this is our episode number 100 and this time we share lots of sailing as we leave Solenzara on Corsica and first sail to Olbia in Sardinia where we saw Uma before they lifted her on land and then we hurry south catching every weather window we could all the way down along the east coast of Sardinia to Cagliari where our Winterberth where waiting in Portus Karalis. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our sailboat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is sail the Mediterrainean Sea and really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. I get my 48V charger connected to the battery and see if it will charge it properly. I'm not going to lie, I have been putting this off for weeks but now with an empty battery after testing, I have no choice!! I make a nice connector and test to see if the charger will detect the battery voltage and auto switch off the charger. next project is to make something that will pull my jib sheet down from the cockpit. I had some heavy steel balls doing nothing so I decided to use one of these to put a weight on the jib halyard and hopefully it would help drop the sail when released. 00:00 The first charge 01:45 Extending the cable. 04:42 Adding a weight to the jib sheet 07:23 The charger works!

Another epic day at Ni'ihau! While there weren't many sharks around, the monk seals were very active and curious. We got to witness one of the longest monk seal fights (to defend territory) I've ever seen plus the usual awesomeness of critters and bathymetry.

Dominic will outline all the ways you can participate, whether on not you own a boat, whether you are an old salt or just starting out. If you want to race, did you know that we continue to offer the largest club racing program in North America? Last year, we delivered 350 races in partnership with our friends at Britannia Yacht Club. Dominic is the Fleet Captain at NSC. That means he facilitates all organized boating activities (except sail training and able sailing). He works with 30 core volunteers in the Fleet Committee, 100’s of volunteers overall, and 7 fleet staff. Dominic races his J/80, which is a 27-foot keelboat with an asymmetric spinnaker, and his Albacore, which is a classic 15-foot dinghy. Dominic is an experienced and enthusiastic sailor, but has never claimed to be good at it. He knows that you should win the start and then extend, and hopes to achieve that one day. He is glad that the Ottawa sailing season only lasts 6 months, as otherwise he would never get home. He believes that the more boaters participate, the better will be the boating life on Lac Deschenes. He believes that high-quality Fleet programs are the pinnacle of the NSC member experience. His favorite event is Turkey Trot because of the variety of boats and members that participate, but one-design racing is awesome too. Find him at fleet@nsc.ca

The first island we visited on the Italian coast was Gallinara. In the Ligurian Sea lies the islet with an area of 11 hectares and a maximum height of 87 meters. It is shaped like a turtle. The islet was owned by 9 Italian families, but in 2020 it was sold to Ukrainian aerospace magnate Oleksander Boguslayev who is a resident of Monaco. He bought the island for just over 10 million euros. It is a protected nature reserve and it is tolerated that people swim and anchor around the island. We did that too, it was very nice, the drone images show that!
