Ho aperto la finestra ed era il vento a scriverne le parole. Era una melodia incalzante di tamburi e cornamusa. Un tempo anch’io scrivevo parole tra le righe della mia anima. Le affidavo al canto dell’usignolo, al ritmo continuo dell’acqua sulla roccia e all’eco per farle giungere fino a te. Era l’età in cui giocavamo ad inventarci il giorno ed indossarlo finché la notte non sopraggiungeva. Potevamo ammirare lo spettacolo del sole, ora dopo ora, accompagnato da uccelli e da nuvole disegnate. I tuoi occhi erano del colore della sabbia e del mare, più mi guardavi e più entravi dentro i miei, colorati dalla pace della notte. Quando non avevamo più niente da dirci, ci hanno sempre pensato loro. Erano quelli i momenti in cui le parole non avevano più importanza. Mi è sempre piaciuto scrivere con l’inchiostro nero della notte quando si avvicina. Ogni parola è stata versata ma senza ottenere altro risultato che la certezza di essere andato alla deriva, tra promesse sussurrate e la luce cangiante del mattino che entra senza bussare. Anche se la mia mano ora è stanca di scrivere, il mio cuore è giovane e la mia mente lo seguirà in eterno, come sempre ha fatto. Questo potrebbe essere il tramonto più bello che abbia mai visto, un miracolo che col fuoco delle parole marchia la mia sconfinata immaginazione.

The Meri Crew sails offshore from VA to FL. We leave Hampton VA where the weather is getting downright cold and head south on the Atlantic ocean. After a four day passage we arrive in Florida where it is shorts and T-shirt weather. Along the way we have a night of bad weather, but also some great sailing and overall a fine passage.

When you get a new mattress you get to make the bed for the first time. Making the bed on a boat is a little more difficult than you might imagine.

The 44th edition of the Hospice Cup in Annapolis brought nearly 100 boats out to the Chesapeake Bay. Hi Folks! I found some footage from where we first cleaned up Reverie, our 1985 Pearson 34 CB Sailboat. We did a walkthrough of the boat. You will see a couple of pictures of what it looked like before and after. During this phase of our refit we were waiting for space to open at the DIY Yard so we could move the boat, so we were focusing on cleaning and fixing above the waterline. Please subscribe to our channel of you like our videos. Something you should consider as you look at refitting your boat, is where would you do the work. A lot of boat yards are being picked up by real estate developers to turn them into condos, so the availability of places to get work done will be going down over town, especially places where you could do the work yourself. She is fairly comfortable with 15 to 20 kts of wind. Freshwater capacity to last over 2 weeks and a fuel range of 13 days steaming. About the Boat ''SY Red Current'' is a Southerly 31 with the construction of GRP and rigged as a sloop with Aluminium Mast. Her LOA is 31 feet and she has a beam of 10 feet with a draft of 7 feet. She also has an electric swing keel which makes her draft very shallow and easy to enter in shallow water.
