Our Atlantic Crossing now takes us from Lanzarote to the beautiful island of Gran Canaria which is to be the final stop before heading to Barbados. With no passage plan and very little care for when we arrive our thoughts are becoming increasingly troubled. I calculate that with a 96nm passage we will arrive in the early hours and in total darkness. For me this is worrying, not only because Las Palmas is a very busy shipping port, but because our Skippers abilities when manoeuvring the boat are questionable in daylight, let alone attempting to dock in the dark. We do safely pick out way through the cargo traffic and we do manage to moor alongside the reception pontoon with little effort, but I was holding my breath on numerous occasions, just waiting for something to go wrong. Las Palmas is a great place, and we are lucky enough to see the 2018 Gran Canaria marathon, with all the razzmatazz you would expect, with street bands, dancing and performing artists. Our enjoyment here is overshadowed though by our increasing anxiety towards the way the boat is being run, and sometime soon we have to ask ourselves ‘ can we trust these people to carry us safely over this huge expanse of water to arrive in one piece on the other side? Enjoy this episode and find out what happens………. Boatlife, fixing things in paradise! Whatever can break, will break! After we hiked up last episode the spectacular Mount Pahia, it's time to leave Bora Bora and sail back to Tahaa, where we will meet again with our friends of SY Yumyum. They promised us to make a special dinner for hiking up and we hope to get our well deserved dinner! Next morning we want to fix a small rip in our Genoa and while dropping the sail, somethings breaks. Of course, we have no spare part and we can't get the sail up again. Nice start in the day, but luckily we have our floating spare part buddy boat next to us! If you like this video, please give us a thumb up and leave a comment. It helps the YT algorithms. Sailing is not all 100% extreme adventure all the time. We have learnt to enjoy the smaller everyday things and have gratitude for each day. In this video we show you some of the basic day to day activities, maintenance and outings. The guys service the dinghy outboard, Karen attempts her second ever paddle on the SUP and we adventure off to the opposite side of Cabedelo in search of new beaches. We are preparing to haul up anchor this week, to head off in search of new adventures, and with not knowing what our connectivity will be like, there might be a delay before we put out a new video but we hope to keep up with our weekly schedule as much as possible.

How to keep it up in even the most adverse circumstances has been a priority and preoccupation of sailors since they first took to the water. That and how to keep your crew as safe as possible, and get them back on-board if the unthinkable happens. Safety of the boat and crew has driven innovation, change in regulations, sailing practices and new technologies. Here at Dazcat safety is always top of our design and build priorities, so we were pleased to have the opportunity to test another layer of safety, new to us. The latest Dazcat 1295 to be launched has embraced the Ocean Data System,@oceandatasystem8162 , up-side-up technology. It is another tool in the box to make sure boat and crew return home safely every time. The Up-side-up system isn't new. As with so many technologies it's been widely used on race boats and the French developers have been in marine electronics since 1991. They provided a superb service throughout the installation and testing of their up-side-up system on the latest Dazcat 1295 'Minor Swing' and so far so good under test conditions...

This episode covers our big (420nm) passage from Nanny Cay, Tortola, BVI’s to Port Louis Marina in Grenada. The point of doing so was twofold. The driving factor was that we’d never visited any of the Caribbean islands south of Saint Lucia, and it was time for that to change. Of secondary importance, once you’ve sailed west from Antigua and Sint Maarten, getting back to those locations entails an epic upwind slog. Most sailors simply motor the entire 40nm route legs between each. And it’s a pounding trip. No fun at all. So having experienced those before, we opted instead to enjoy a better sailing angle, and cut directly south to Grenada with no stops in between. But to start things off, we had a few small segments that needed to be included. The episode kicks off with footage of a visit by Luis Oliviera, one of our two crew members for our 2019 ARC Atlantic crossing from Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands. That trip was nearly 3,000nm, and we got to know Luis well. As I state in the segment, I’ve met and sailed with a lot of captains, and Luis is probably the best (definitely in the top two) that I’ve ever been close to. Should viewers need his services as either a delivery captain or for mid-to-large yacht coaching, Luis the guy for the job. Luis can be contacted on WhatsApp +351 929 030 208 or email at luismfo@gmail.com Beyond that, my brother Brendan and his wife Dara came to visit to do a little monohull sailing with us, during which I retrieved a tree trunk with our anchor. That was fun. It really was. Finally, our dear friend Scott came out to help with the Grenada passage. And that’s the meat of the episode. A wonderful sleigh ride from the BVIs down to Grenada. What a great trip! sailing yacht talisman, sailing, sailing youtube, boating, top sailing, oyster yachts, oyster sailboats, oyster 485, offshore, bluewater, blue water, sailing vlog, sailing vblog, sailing channels, sailing videos, cruising, monohull, BVI, BVI’s, reality

Episode 41: Asked to leave a private beach by the Military Police, SNAKES, working out kinks in the boat and a mystery in our transom storage This episode Cass and Shelly continue their adventures as they sail to English Harbour and explore all it has to offer. We are run off the beach by the Jandarma (military police), have a run in with a snake and find mystery wine in the bilge. We were fortunate to have good friends in this bay share their paddle board and kayak with us so we could play a bit in the calm wasters as well as snorkeling around to find a Hydra. We fly back to Vietnam only 4 weeks after our last visit and are amazed how far No Regrets 2 has come along. We show the saloon, master cabin, helm and cockpit, mast locker for our Rainman Watermaker, starboard guest cabin and engine bay access. WHO ARE WE? We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022. We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change. We are just an ordinary Aussie couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams. #seawind1370 #seawindcats #sailing #sailingboat #sailingyacht #yacht #yachting #yachtinglifestyle #cruisinglife

E58 Weekly Vlog of Life in a Nutshell travels. Hobbling through the desert we finally make it to Purnie Bore and a well earned hot shower. The place is full of pink and grey galahs. Repairs are made to the motorcycles and after a lovely sleep the tour heads off down the track to Dalhousie Hot Springs, an oasis in the desert. Soaked, contented and replenished we continue on to Yulara where we are able to make the major repairs to the truck. After a couple of nights’ rest and relaxation and trips to the rock for the boys we continue the journey again, leaving Yulara and heading west. We hope you enjoy traveling along with us both as we share remote and often unseen areas of the Australian Outback with you all. Thank you all so much for watching. Today we are leaving Rose Island and crossing the Yellow Bank to the Exumas! Our first stop will be at Allen's Cay where we plan on spending the night. We are looking forward to exploring the Islands and experiencing all there is to see and do while there. The weather for crossing the Yellow Bank was perfect! We had clear skies and calm water with amazing clarity. Unfortunately we had to motor the whole way to Allen's Cay, but that wasn't so bad. We were able to use our boom tent for the first time and loved having the luxury of sitting in the cockpit in the shade. We would have died of heat without it. Allen's Cay is a MUST SEE!! We were blown away by it's beauty and couldn't believe how much there was to see and explore. We found that some of the sand inside was made up of shell fragments which didn't make for the best holding while anchoring, but found that by moving a few feet and trying again we found better sand. Beware of the large sand bars within the anchorage; We noticed while entering the anchorage that we had to zigzag around sand bars to get further inside. There were maybe 7 others sailboats anchored at Allen's Cay when we arrived, but by early morning we had the whole place to ourselves. By late afternoon 2-3 more sailboats showed up and soon after we were joined by several tour groups. The popular attraction on Allen's Cay are the Iguana Lizards. Tourists are able to feed the lizards snacks by placing them on a long stick and holding it out for the lizards to eat. It is NEVER a good idea to feed the lizards by your own hand, because they WILL BITE you. We heard a story about a 6 year old girl who got her finger bitten clean off by one of the Iguana Lizards here on Allen's Cay a few years back, luckily there were people around who were able to giver her medical attention right away. Later that day we left Allen's Cay and made our way south to Highborne Cay, but we'll share that in the next video! For the last stretch of our road trip we drove to the most southern point of the USA, Key West. We visited the beautiful Butterfly garden and ate some delicious lobsters. We planned to have enough time to stay in the Florida Keys because we absolutely love it there. So we had a few days of rest in the magnificent Isla Bella Resort. And we got some good news from Disney: they offered us free tickets after they heard what happened to Liam. So we took off to Orlando again! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRO MUSIC by Campfire by Scandinavianz https://soundcloud.com/scandinavianz Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0 Free Download / Stream: https://bit.ly/_campfire Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/9Rfykh-YzCc
