► See the full test soon in Multihulls World #205. ► For our test sail aboard the Astus 26.5 in La Rochelle, just after the boat show closed, we enjoyed ideal conditions with bright sunshine, a steady 10-knot offshore breeze and calm seas... ► The new flagship of the Astus range didn’t take long to reach speeds of over 11 knots - we were testing the Sport version, which has a little more sail area. At all speeds, the 26.5 glides effortlessly across the water, with an almost neutral helm thanks to the work of the naval architects! This, their fifth collaboration with renowned architects VPLP, results in a rather sober design featuring significant volume in the central hull above the chine. ► The result is interior space that’s quite satisfactory - the layout offers a proper cabin forward and saloon bench seats that can be widened by 6 inches (15 cm). ► Technical Specifications: Builder: Astus Boats Naval Architects: VPLP Hull length: 26’ (7.9 m) Beam: 19’ / 9’10” folded when afloat (5.8/2.99 m) Width folded on trailer: 8’3” (2.52 m) Light displacement: 2,425 lbs (1,100 kg) Mainsail: 269/301 sq ft (25/28 m²) Solent: 118/140 sq ft (11/13 m²) Gennaker: 323/366 sq ft (30/34 m²) Max. power: 10 HP outboard CE Category: D7/C5 Price: from € 82,417 ex-tax ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! This is Stella Overboard — a tale of two young surfers who traded land for the sea. With little to no sailing experience, we set out to chase waves across countries and oceans, searching for untouched surf breaks, secret islands, and a life of true freedom. Living off-grid, we’ve learned to fix everything ourselves, create our own power, make our own water, and catch our own food — all while facing storms, squalls, and the unpredictable moods of the ocean. This is a story of learning, patience, and courage. Of freedom, adventure, and chasing a dream that few dare to live. 🌊 Welcome aboard Stella Overboard.

This episode shares the reality of passages, the reality of the day in, and the day out. We get some great winds that give us awesome speeds, but the seas keep us on our ass lol! Day trip Island hopping throughout the Windward a Leeward islands of the Caribbean does not compare with passages that include 3 or more days let alone the month long passage it takes to cross the Pacific Ocean to that first landfall. Trade winds of the Caribbean are a wonderful thing for longer passages, if you can handle them. Please consider supporting our videos on Patreon. The 12th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race got underway in near-perfect conditions off Marina Lanzarote, as the international fleet raced into the Atlantic framed by Lanzarote’s dramatic volcanic coastline. A steady northeasterly breeze of around 12–15 knots, clear skies and warm temperatures delivered an exceptional start, with spectator boats following the fleet to the mark off Puerto Calero Marina before the course opened south for the 3,000-nautical-mile crossing to Antigua. The IRC monohulls delivered a fiercely competitive opening, with Palanad 4 first across the line and Baltic 111 Raven quickly asserting herself on the water. In the multihull start, MOD70s Argo and Zoulou immediately locked horns, launching into the Atlantic at high speed. From foiling superyachts to two-handed campaigns and youth-led teams, the RORC Transatlantic Race once again brings together extraordinary diversity, ambition and adventure as the fleet heads west across one of the world’s great oceans. This time we are sailing longer distances again, further and further west. First, we sail around 200 nautical miles from Sicily to Sardinia and from there just about 550 nautical miles to Almerimar on the Spanish mainland. Some things break along the way and a container ship approaches on a collision course. Will everything turn out alright?

After an ice storm and a late-night show, we return to our sailboat to see what winter left behind. Frozen lines, rigging checks, and a full winter boat inspection to make sure everything survived. After the storm, we bring in provisions for the weekend, wake up to quiet marina mornings, make coffee and a warm omelet bowl with music playing in the background, and take care of a failing electrical outlet onboard. This is real winter sailboat life—maintenance, problem-solving, and slowing down together. If you’re into sailing vlogs, liveaboard life, or learning what winter boating is really like, this episode is for you. ⚓ Subscribe for honest sailing life, boat maintenance, and cozy moments from the galley. ► This week, we’re taking you to the British Virgin Islands for seven days of family sailing aboard a Moorings 5000 (Leopard 50). ► On the itinerary: Tortola, Cooper Island, Saba Rock, Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke, and Anegada… Exploring these islands and anchorages means short sails of one to three hours per day, except for a beautiful longer crossing to Anegada, a flat coral island set slightly apart from the rest of the archipelago. As for the crew, while Charlotte is already an experienced young sailor, it’s a first for Mahé and Marceau! Also on board: Aude, Joffrey, Laurie, Quentin, Pierre-Yves… and me, Maria. A true nine-person adventure, filled with time under sail, laughter at anchor, and the logistics of life as a floating tribe. ► We’ll also be sharing our sailing experience aboard the Moorings 5000: seaworthiness, cabin comfort, the layout of the convivial galley, how the outdoor spaces work for children… We’ll tell you whether this catamaran is truly well designed for family cruising. ► Sign up for our newsletter and win a free two-month subscription to Multihulls World by clicking here: https://bit.ly/48JP1Vk ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! Hi and welcome aboard @SailingAstridTheWombat We are Gav and Shezz and two and a half years ago we bought our Beneteau Oceanis 430 sailboat with absolutely no sailing experience and jumped straight into the deep end of liveaboard sailing. Our very first passage was just over 700 nautical miles, launching us headfirst into the world of bluewater cruising, learning to sail, and real life at sea. Since that moment, we’ve been fully immersed in boat life, documenting the journey of turning a production cruising sailboat into a capable, self-sufficient home as we prepare for full-time liveaboard life. From major sailboat upgrades and off-grid power systems to everyday maintenance and skills building, we’re learning what it truly takes to own, sail, and live on a boat while working toward our goal of sailing around the world. If you’re into sailing adventures, beginner sailing, sailboat ownership, cruising lifestyle, and traveling the world by sailboat, our journey is all about real-time learning, ocean freedom, and building the confidence to chase long-term world cruising under sail. In this episode of our liveaboard sailing journey, we explore the incredible coastline of Moreton Island and climb to the top of the famous sandhills for one of the most breathtaking views we’ve ever seen from our cruising sailboat. After sailing across the bay and anchoring off this wild and remote island, we head ashore to experience the natural beauty that makes this destination so special for sailors, cruisers, and lovers of boat life. Living as liveaboard sailors, we’re constantly reminded that some of the most unforgettable experiences come from places you can only truly reach by boat. Moreton Island is a dream stop for anyone interested in coastal cruising, anchoring in remote locations, and combining sailing adventures with land exploration. From the water, the towering sandhills look surreal — but climbing to the top reveals sweeping views of the ocean, coastline, and our tiny floating home anchored below. This episode captures the heart of cruising life and slow travel by sailboat. We leave the boat behind for a few hours, hike through soft sand, and take in the raw, untouched landscape that makes island sailing and world travel by sailboat so unique. It’s moments like this that balance the practical side of sailboat ownership — maintenance, upgrades, and passage planning — with the adventure and freedom that come with life at sea. If you’re interested in liveaboard sailing, beginner sailing, sailboat living, or you’re a sailboat owner dreaming of bigger adventures, this episode shows the lifestyle side of bluewater cruising. It’s not just about miles sailed; it’s about the places your boat can take you — hidden beaches, dramatic landscapes, and views you have to earn. We are preparing our boat and ourselves for sailing around the world, and experiences like this are a huge part of that journey. Exploring islands, anchoring off remote shores, and discovering nature from our floating home is what liveaboard cruising life is all about. Follow along as we share real boat life, sailing adventures, and the path toward full-time world cruising — one anchorage, one island, and one unforgettable view at a time. Join us now as we settle into liveaboard life and get our boat ready to take off and sail around the world. As new sailors we want to share all of our learnings and keep it real in our videos. We want to show step by step what it takes to choose a boat, buy the boat and learn how to sail. Our sailing learning curve is steep so come along with us as we learn and grow as liveaboard sailors. We promise you will have a laugh! Not every sailing day goes to plan… and this one REALLY didn’t 😅 We kick things off with a beautiful, calm sail past Cabo Rojo Lighthouse—one of the most stunning coastlines in Puerto Rico. But from there… things start to unravel. We anchor in La Parguera hoping to experience the famous bioluminescent bay… but it’s a total fail. Next stop, Ponce, for a much-needed resupply—but we tried to take a short cut to the store which involves one of our sketchiest dinghy rides yet, battling waves crashing as we enter the creek 😬 (fail #2). Hoping to turn things around, we sail to Caja de los Muertos (Coffin Island)—a stunning island with crystal-clear water. But even here, our hike to the lighthouse turns into another fail thanks to a brutal cactus-covered trail 🌵 Thankfully, not everything goes wrong… we find some incredible snorkeling and wrap things up sailing into Salinas. This is real sailing life—plans change, things go sideways, but the adventure never stops. 👍 Enjoy the video? Give it a thumbs up and subscribe to follow our journey! ⛵️ We’re a family sailing full-time and sharing the real highs, lows, and everything in between. #SailingLife #SailingFamily #PuertoRicoSailing #BoatLife #LiveaboardLife #SailingAdventure #CruisingLife #FamilySailing #SailingWithKids #WildlyIntrepid #SailingYouTube #OffGridLiving #OceanLife #BoatFails #SailingFails #RealLifeSailing #CaboRojo #LaParguera #Bioluminescence #PoncePuertoRico #CajaDeLosMuertos #SalinasPuertoRico #IslandLife #caribbeanlife 🤍 SUPPORT THE CHANNEL If you’d like to help keep these videos coming: 👉 Patreon (monthly support) https://www.patreon.com/WildlyIntrepid 👉 One-time contribution (PayPal) https://www.paypal.me/wildlyintrepid 👉 Grab some merch https://teespring.com/en-GB/stores/wildly-intrepid 👉 Amazon Wish List (gear we need) https://www.amazon.ca/hz/wishlist/ls/2GTH6AGVPH4LP?ref_=wl_share 🔔 JOIN THE INTREPID TRIBE Subscribe and follow along: https://www.youtube.com/c/WildlyIntrepid?sub_confirmation=1 📲 FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES Facebook → https://www.facebook.com/wildlyintrepid/ Instagram → https://www.instagram.com/wildlyintrepid/ 🛠️ GEAR & DISCOUNTS (Affiliate Links) Using these links supports us at no extra cost to you 🙌 ⚓ Defender Marine https://defender.pxf.io/xL9D9v 🔋 SOK Batteries https://www.us.sokbattery.com/?ref=zS7whJNCsEGFPu ❄️ BougeRV (32% OFF) Code: Wildly https://bit.ly/3ZYruez 🔋 UNOWIX Batteries (10% OFF) Code: UNOWIX10 https://unowix.com/unowix-defender-x100.html#aff22 Amazon (USA): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5Q84XQW?ref=myi_title_dp 🏴‍☠️ Vagabond Heart (stickers & patches) https://vagabondheart.co?sca_ref=2994343.Oj9OO9JP2Z 📚 BOOKS BY US "Hikes of Western Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/33NphoR "Hikes of Newfoundland" → https://amzn.to/39WtjPR 🎶 Music: Epidemic Sound
