Tras el escenario que nos hemos encontrado, en el que nos fue imposible realizar las FCT de formación presencial debido al Covid19, ya que los clubes estaban fisicamente cerrados al público ante la pandemia, se planteó a los alumn@s el siguiente proyecto académico-náutico. En él cada alumn@ ha sido una pieza de un puzzle, una parte de la tripulación, creando diferentes contenidos que uniremos al final del proceso con el trabajo de cada un@. Para ello hemos dividido al grupo dando a cada 'tripulante-alumno' un rol, como si estuviésemos haciendo una travesía de vuelta al mundo de vela de verdad. El tiempo que hemos tenido es de 40 días, 23 horas, 30 minutos y 30 segundos. Eso es lo que ha tardado el trimarán IDEC Sport en completar la circunnavegación al planeta más rápida de la historia de la vela, recorriendo 26.412 millas (42.500 Km) a una velocidad media de 26,85 nudos (49,73 Km/h) y ganando el Trofeo Julio Verne. Nuestra particular ‘regata’ empezó el 1 de mayo, soltando amarras en Lanzarote y llegando de vuelta tras 40 días en alta mar, el 10 de junio a las 12h, fecha tope de entrega de contenidos tras pasar por los Cabos más importantes del mundo: Cabo de Buena Esperanza [Sudáfrica], Cabo de Leeuwin [Australia], Cabo de Hornos [Sudamérica]. Proyecto 'FCT World Race' realizado durante los meses de confinamiento en Lanzarote como alternativa a la imposibilidad de realizar la Formación en Centro de Trabajo FCT de nuestros alumn@s del Ciclo medio de Técnico deportivo en Vela del IES Blas Cabrera de Arrecife.

Remove the meat from the raw lobster 2. Warm the Sake (don't let the sake boil) 3. When the sake is warm, cook the lobster meat in the warm sake for a few min till the meat becomes white 4. So in this video, we go over how to replace the brake hose, that connects the brake slave cylinder to the brake line. Then we purge all the brake fluid out of the master cylinder and all the brake lines. Finally, we purge the air out of the brake lines making sure our jeep will stop without having a mushy brake pedal. So glad that we looked at the brakes and put our big bumper on this jeep, not just a week later it was involved in an accident when going 50 MPH. If our son's brakes had been soft or the brake line had failed, this wreck could have been so much worse. Just goes to show it is never too early to check that your ride's brakes are working as well as possible. The Cornish town of Fowey, about 20 miles west of Plymouth, has long been hugely popular with cruising sailors. We go there several times a year. However we hadn't been up the river itself for many years, so last week seemed a good opportunity to do so. It's crowded with moorings near the mouth, and has a shallow, twisting channel further inland which makes it all somewhat challenging. So we wanted to concentrate on navigation on the trip upriver. Thus this video starts at St Winnow and its famous water front church, and then makes it way back down to the sea. I have been further upstream (it's possible to get to Lostwithiel) but the river narrows very quickly - too narrow to turn a 30ft x 20ft catamaran round, we didn't want to back out! The upper reaches are basically empty, no moorings, no waterfront houses. That all changes at Golant, a village just north of Fowey. Even though most of it dries out at low water it's still full of small boat moorings. A mile further downstream and, somewhat bizarrely for what seems a sleepy Cornish river, we motored past the commercial docks. Usually exporting china clay, from Cornwall's biggest industry. Turning the last bend we reached Fowey harbour and the town and picked up a mooring. But not before passing the small car ferry and then the house once owned by famous author Daphne de Maurier (of Frenchmans Creek, Jamaica Inn etc fame) In the evening we watched the local dayboats - the Troy class - race in a fading wind. Totally ignoring the china clay ship leaving port. It looked huge going out, but nothing compared to the cruise ships we have seen in the river! As always, there is no audio on this short video (you wouldn't like my choice of backing music, nor the constant noise of an engine). Having said that, the appropriate sound track would of course be something by Oasis, as "Definitely Maybe" was recorded in a water front studio just north of Golant. Yes I know, I should have filmed it as we passed.
