Horten is a porttown and municipality in Norway along the Oslofjord. Horten was originally designed as a support craft for submarines and fast attack craft. Historically famous is the "The Battle of Horten Harbour" or the "Action at Horten" The engagement that occurred on 9 April 1940 during Operation Weserübung when the Germans launched an amphibious assault on Karljohansvern, the Norwegian naval base at Horten. The guestharbour in Horten is situated in the centre and is easily accessible from the waterway in the Oslofjord. Close to the marina, there are playgrounds, beach volleyball court and a kiosk. The harbour is located near a large shopping centre nearby, restaurants, bars and a cinema.

Bull sharks appear frequently around boats in anchorages in the Exumas. They probably know that food scraps are often thrown overboard and in our case, they probably smelled that we had brought some freshly caught fish on board. They spent hours swimming in circles around Shaima. This is a full video of the unique wildlife interaction.

We got caught in a really bad wind storm over night on out sailboat. 35 plus knot winds. Dingy kept flipping because of the wind and everything inside fell out into the ocean. Engine and gas tank filled with water. Sleepless night. Austin searches the ocean floor the next morning to attempt to find our stuff. Found his sandals washed up on shore. We hike to a little blue and white church with Lenny.

The snorkeling on the way to the mouth of the river was very nice. QP saw lots of sea fans, coral and reef fish. The water was too low to get our dinghy into the river, so we walked in until we sank past our knees in sticky mud. On the way out, QP got some fishing lessons from the Great Egret. With the forecast only showing 5 knts for day 5 no one expected much of the medal series, however none of this turned out to be true. With strong winds and high swell, the medal series couldn’t be more exciting! The idea of the medal series is simple 3 races in an elimination format, the first 2 to cross the finish line advance to the next final. With High speeds and no room for error the racing was intense, but this didn’t keep Pilar La Madrid and Frenchman Nicolas Goyard away from their gold medal.
