What an incredible experience on the Dewi in Raja Ampat! This was our dear friends - and long time dive buddies - last scuba adventure before hanging up their fins. Highlights were definitely seeing the wobbegong shark, epaulette (walking) shark, and the mobula ray for the first time!!! Plus it was my first sea snake! The boat defined luxury and the crew were incredibly friendly and fantastic! Once again our minds were blown.

The 2020 Zoo Station Croatia PWA Slalom World Tour event proved a massive success with Bol producing 5 days racing out of a possible 6. In Episode 59 of the Sailing Goat Series, I tackle an issue that has been bothering me for weeks — our Iridium GO! satellite system still isn’t working properly. I had to cut and extend the antenna cable during the initial install at the nav desk, and since then, it’s never transmitted the way it should. I tried redoing all the connections but with no success. Unser erster Ankerplatz vor Sardinien: Ein Jahr nach einem prägenden Moment kehren wir zur Insel Ogliastra zurück und beginnen unser Leben vor Anker. Segelleben starten – bewusst, ehrlich und nah am Alltag. Vor einem Jahr waren wir hier, vor der Insel Ogliastra, manövrierunfähig auf See. Ein Motorausfall – Segeln war nicht möglich, über Funk kam keine Hilfe. Ankern war ebenfalls keine Option. Heute sind wir zurück, um diesen Ort noch einmal bewusst zu erleben. Wir starten im Hafen von Santa Maria Navarrese und wollen zum ersten Mal ankern. Ganz in der Nähe – dort, wo wir damals manövrierunfähig vor der Insel lagen. Hinter uns liegt ein Jahr Refit in der Werft. Viel Arbeit, viele Entscheidungen und ein Alltag, der lange vom Reparieren und Vorbereiten geprägt war. Jetzt beginnt der Teil, für den wir uns entschieden haben: das Leben an Bord, vor Anker, nah an der Natur und mit vielen kleinen Momenten, die bleiben. Wir erkunden die einsame Insel, fahren mit dem Dinghy zur Höhle und erleben diesen Ort aus einer neuen Perspektive. Uns ist bewusst, dass nicht jeder Tag so aussieht. Aber dieser fühlt sich für uns genau richtig an. 💬 Austausch & Mitmachen Gibt es Orte in eurem Leben, zu denen ihr zurückgekehrt seid und die sich beim zweiten Mal ganz anders angefühlt haben? We continue west towards the coast. We end up at Fort Kochi, which is a very famous place. We take a good look around and stay in a wonderful little hotel. We find a great place to eat and have a pizza! We’ve had quite a few weeks of eating India food and it’s time for a break. We take a ride on a country boat but it fails in the middle of the massive channel, with ferries and large boats passing us. We end up on one of the ferries to get back to where we started! It’s quite an experience! Then it’s of to pick up our beautiful Kerala houseboat and spend a night out on the water. It’s wonderful. We also manage to get on another country boat and have a chance to see the smaller waterways of this beautiful place. That wraps up our drive across India. It’s then a quick flight to New Delhi for a day or to and onto London for new adventures… Thanks for watching. Dicono che i giorni più belli per un armatore siano quello in cui compra la barca e quello in cui la vende... ma tutti si dimenticano del cantiere! Dimenticate spiagge bianche, atolli e palme da cocco: oggi si fatica. Finalmente siamo pronti per tirare Y2K fuori dall'acqua (non succedeva dal 2023!), ma l'alaggio si è trasformato in un vero e proprio "cinema". Senza il motore funzionante (smontato in attesa di pezzi dal Giappone per via della corrosione) e con il Travel lift del marina che si è rivelato troppo basso per farci entrare di poppa a causa dei pannelli solari, abbiamo dovuto letteralmente smontare mezza barca, rimuovendo sia lo strallo del genoa che quello di trinchetta, mentre ci facevamo rimorchiare dai ragazzi del porto con il loro gommone di servizio!
