After a night of pure terror, we arrive on Catalina Island. This couldn't have been a more welcome sight, a complete contrast to our last 12 hours . We have arrived in a true paradise and it's time to celebrate!!

In this episode we talk a bit about marine conservation initiatives taking place at Plantation Island Resort, where we have the opportunity to lend a hand for a couple of weeks. Because there's a lot of work to do in the water, we don't bring the camera on the job site most of the time, so most of the footage turns out to be more about our time on land with the great caretaking staff who are here working on the resort in preparation for the return of tourists. Petit St. Vincent Petit St. Vincent was a beautiful stop in the Grenadines, just a short sail from Union Island. The highlight? The little sandy spit called MOPION Island with a shade umbrella that made the perfect photo spot. It was quite difficult to get on the island as it’s surrounded by reef and rough waters, but Stephen got on the island while I pulled dinghy watch. And, of course he had to bring a beer. Petit St Vincent is a private resort island, and while you used to be able to go ashore for cocktails and dinner, the recent new ownership has changed that. You can still go ashore, but it costs $150 per person JUST to go ashore. The cost for one overnight in a one bedroom cottage is a mere $1500. So, we just enjoyed the waters. Snorkeling on the south side of the island was a real treat (in the waters between Petit St Vincent and Petit Martinique). Much to the security guards dissatisfaction, a couple onshore struck up a conversation with us and of course, they were from the Carolinas! Snorkeling on the north side was just as nice, but the water was a bit rough, so we didn’t stay long. Petit Martinique The next day, we did a drive by of Petit Martinique, an island known for its fishing and boat building trades with only 900 residents. While actually a part of the Grenadines geographically, it is owned by Grenada. The current in these waters is super strong and at one point, we lost a full knot of speed after crossing a current line. Carriacou Our next stop was a quiet anchorage called Anse Roche in Carriacou, a secluded paradise beach. While a 50 minute hike from the closest road, it is easy to reach by boat. Wonderful snorkeling around the “rocks” and a beautiful beach with Tim’s Lobster BBQ beach bar. Un accueil et un réveillon inoubliable. Changement d'équipiers, plongée, plages et tortues. Samedi 31 décembre, 11h, Ikigaï est amarré. Ça y est, nous sommes de l'autre côté. 2208 miles nautiques (4090 km pour un terrien) et 18 jours de navigation, cet espace temps est tellement grand que lorsque l'on regarde derrière nous, la traversée que nous venons d'effectuer nous semble irréelle. Comme si, l'atlantique se posait là, il y avait un côté Est, un côté Ouest et aucune transition entre les deux. comme un cliqué de non retour. Nos amis Eddy et Nadiége nous ont réservé un accueil incroyable et nous avons pu réveillonner tous ensemble. Encore merci. Est ensuite arrivé le moment du départ de nos équipiers et l'arrivée des filles. En Martinique, les transports en commun sont relativement peu développés. Nous avons loué une voiture pour une semaine afin de pouvoir visiter l'île et ses plages. L'organisation est simple. Le matin est studieux, CNED pour les filles, formation Master 2 à distance pour Moufida et entretien du bateau pour moi.
