To undertake the crewed around-the-world record is as much about the human adventure as it is a technical and sporting challenge. The men and women working alongside Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard at Spindrift racing have been preparing this race against the clock for almost three years. The target: to sail around the world in less than 45 days, 13 hours and 42 minutes. The tough record they will try to beat was set by Loïck Peyron and his crew in 2012 on Banque Populaire V, which was renamed Spindrift 2 a year later. The French-Swiss team decided to use the same 40 m trimaran because they believed that the boat could be further optimised, a task that sailors, engineers and technicians at the team have been working on ever since. After countless hours of work at the boatyard and 40,000 nautical miles of racing and training, the Spindrift racing-prepared trimaran is all set to go. The team will officially go on stand-by on October 19th and wait for the ideal weather window. Meet newly weds Mr. & Mrs. Jack & Britt Hambrecht, they along with Judy, Casey & Brett made up the crew for a sail on Annecam to Lady Musgrave Island.

Race 8 of the frosties was the second race on race day 4. It was once again sailed in dull rainy condition with a light breeze from the north east. For the second race in a row there was a large wind shift during the starting sequence which resulted in the pin end of the start line being heavily favoured. Two boats were brave enough to attempt a port had start, with "Go to Red" (mumm 36 racing yacht) crossing the fleet of port tack after defending the pin end of the start lined from "What's the Rush 2". With the size of the Wind shift "Go To Red" was able to deploy her Code Zero head sail shortly after the start, this allowed her to power her way to the first mark while the rest of the fleet slowed each other down as they tried to find a a clear lane to the first mark. The code zero powered "Go To Red" to victory making up for the poor showing in race 7. There are still 3 boats in the running for the overall win coming into the last race for the series. This is part 1 of three videos showing you some peppers being cooked with the sun. Peppers are easy to cook, since they are vegetables, containing mostly water. I bet you can cook this sort of stuff twice a day, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 13:30 to 17:00 (In part 2, you'll see the peppers ready by 13:00). Meat and legumes are the hardest to cook, though in days like these, you can reach 120-130ºC between 12:00 and 15:00 and cook such things once a day. This way you can cook almost anything, every day from May until mid-late September. Even two times a day. Simple meals like this one can be cooked on less sunny days, all day long, from sunrise to sunset, but you have to realign the cookers more often and you will be able to reach only 100ish ºC. Rosana está iniciando aulas de comandar o veleiro somente com as velas. Nesta aula fez o rumo de través e contra vento durante duas horas em velocidade média de 7,5 Km/hora e 7 milhas de percurso. No comando da embarcação é necessário atenção a toda sua volta, na proa, (frente do barco) obstáculos e profundidade do local onde está navegando e atento a tripulação pois ele será o responsável por todos a bordo.

Em 2018 no Lagoa Iate Clube participamos pela primeira vez da Regata 6 horas no Dingue, onde duas duplas dividem o mesmo barco durante a prova na Lagoa da Conceição em Florianópolis, fazendo revezamento durante todo tempo de prova. Minha proeira neste dia foi a aluna Amanda, Arcy amigo e proprietário do barco, estava com o aluno Nicolas, ambos do Joinville Iate Clube. A largada foi da beira da água com a primeira dupla correndo até o barco que estava com a outra dupla aguardando para inciar a prova após o sinal de largada. Eu e Amanda inciamos a corrida dentro da água até o barco, cerca de 60 metros e não foi fácil, chegamos no barco ofegantes, pois não havíamos treinado a corrida, mesmo assim largamos bem em quarto lugar e conseguimos ir pra terceiro. O vento estava de Sul soprando com 8 a 10 nós mas aumentou bastante durante a prova chegando a 15 nós com rajadas de 18, momento deste vídeo onde capotamos o barco durante a empopada na virada da boia, nós já sentíamos o esforço de fazer o contra vento e o braço já estava cansado, assim não conseguimos sincronizar a manobra e equilibrar para não virar, contudo não fomos ultrapassados, desviramos o barco e passamos para a nossa dupla em terceiro lugar, neste momento já havíamos feito metade da prova, cerca de 2 horas, (a mesma foi adiantada devido as condições) mas com o decorrer da prova fomos sendo ultrapassados e finalizamos em quinto lugar. Nous y avons croisé une bonne poignée d'aventuriers, certains sur le retour d'un tour du monde, d'autres en route vers les glaces du nord ... Jean-René Tortuga lui, après avoir bourlingué sur toutes les mers du monde, a décidé de s'installer ici. Je rêve déjà de retourner à Santa Maria.
