It was a two day event changing the oil myself on anchor. Had I had the correct tools it would have taken a couple of hours but I didn't have them yet as Outremer did the first oil change etc for free back in France as part of their service for new vessels. We have a boys day girls day! Brady, Brian and Max take the dinghy on a river adventure back to the town of Mayabunder in order to get a permit to visit Interview Island. In typical man fashion we get our work done in 5 minutes and head to the bar for a morning beer. We meet a crazy Punjabi man at the local pub and he offers to take us on an island adventure, to proudly show off his home island to us. The day turns into a lot of beer drinking, some random adventures, and then a long dinghy ride home during a crazy rain storm. Our Indian breakfast catches up with us so we pull off the river into the jungle to let nature take it's course. We stumble into a massive trail blazed by working elephants and have a really cool intraction. The girls on the other hand decide to have a proper girls day with baking, chilled white wine, movies and massages. Unfortunately the girls use too much power and end up blowing the generator circuit breaker by using the air conditioning which puts a damper on their day. They do a hell of a good job with the massages and baking cookies though! Footage from April 2015. Our Mission It’s simple really- we just want to make you SMILE! We do this because we LOVE it. Things don't start smoothly for our 300 nautical mile passage to Mexico. After waiting for a decent weather window we hoist sail and head straight out into the Gulf Stream. The seas are steep and confused and Baby Nugs loses her breakfast. Twice in fact :( We decide to hoist both downwind sails to stabilize Delos and gain speed, and soon are making amazing progress in a perfect 15 knots of wind. Delos and crew are in the groove and we have an incredible day of pure downwind sailing. Day turns to night and Brian brakes down the night watch rules for new crew Taylor. The moon rises and we have a fantastic night of moonlit downwind sailing before the wind changes and we're forced to drop sail and gybe to get back on course. To be continued in part 2!
