Artists pay tribute to the pregnant elephant who died due to someone stuffing a pineapple with fireworks. A pregnant elephant died in Kerala, India, of excruciating pain after it bit into a pineapple filled with firecrackers. The explosives went off in her mouth, damaging her jaw grievously. The farmers are known to put fireworks inside the food and plant it on the edges of their fields to keep away wild animals. The elephant's tongue and mouth were so badly injured, she wasn't able to eat. Eventually after few days, she died. Officials took her back to the forest in a truck and cremated her there. Jarhead, outright winner of the 2020 BOV Autumn Regatta took some time to take a short video clip of some of the onboard action. "The race consisted of very short courses which was very tactical as racing was close and tight. This meant that we had to be on edge all the time and it required us to be looking at all the boats on the race course including the smaller boats to see the wind shifts. The team was not only very good and determined to do well, but a fun bunch, lots of laughs aboard and joking around. A North Easterly breeze means a whole new experience for me as i'll be contending with a grumpy Northerly breeze. After a quick fly of the drone, I end up running, wing-on-wing down to Bala camping beach where we visit the "enchanted Forest". I then try and do some beach launching practise followed by some Lying-a-hull practise and then finishing up with some beating back to base in decent winds. Warning..... they all get sea sick! The captain, Sheryl, tries her best to fulfil Nadia's dreams of white Whitsunday beaches and colourful Butterfly Bay coral. Dreams of swimming with turtles and dolphins did not come to fruition as the winds were against us as we banged head on into the South Easterlies. Thank goodness Magnetic Island is a safe haven for us to return to when the wind turns sour.
