The journey of a couple - John Pott and Manuela Visani - respectively Australian and Italian, in the construction of their catamaran Essenza. Living an alternative life in North Queensland, in the town of Bowen, at the top of the Whitsundays Islands, the married couple shares their experience in the building process of Essenza while also working and slowing down to the simple things in life in the beautiful area of the Great Barrier Reef. They are following the design plan of the boat builder Peter Snell: a 41 foot catamaran. Their goal is to have an alternative lifestyle living aboard. The movies, once the boat is completed, will show also their very personal experience on board through life and the ocean.

Dutchman Nico Poons and his crew on Charisma triumphed at the end of a thrilling final day in the 2018 RC44 Marstrand Cup which came down to the last run of the 12th and last race in sparkling sunshine off Sweden’s west coast. Poons started the day in second place, two points behind overnight leader Torbjorn Tornqvist on Artemis Racing, but after scoring a fourth place in the first race of the day, then his third win of the series in the second heat, he just needed to finish one place behind Artemis to win the title. Charisma started well in the final race but a disastrous windward mark rounding first time round saw her drop from third to last in the nine-strong fleet of high-performance all-carbon monohulls. But Poons and his team, with Ray Davies on tactics, found speed on the run and by the second windward mark they were on Artemis’s tail. They then sat there down the final run to the finish, winning the title on countback with the two crews tied on 48 points. Poons now takes the lead for the season in the RC44 fleet from Igor Lah’s crew on CEEREF, which finished fourth here, three points behind Vladimir Prosikhin’s Team Nika. The next event in the calendar is the RC44 World Championship in Cascais in Portugal starting on September 26th. The RC44 Marstrand Cup is the third event of the RC44 Championship Tour which pits the world's top businessmen and the best sailors in the industry compete in high-performance one-design 44-foot carbon racing yachts. Ocean Youth Sailing's goal is to teach kids and young adults about the environment and ocean sailing on their 45-foot catamaran. Their two-hulled floating classroom/dormitory was built by students who learned the arts of composite boat building. Here is a video of them sailing. Depois de reiterar por muitos anos que nunca teria um animal na minha casa, uma cadela pariu na porta da minha residência e fui "obrigado" a cuidar da mãe e de dois filhores. Não gostava desse bicho. Mas, a partir do sétimo mês de idade notei que o macho (o THOR) era muito apegado comigo. Então comecei a leva-lo diariamente nas minhas caminhadas. Criou-se, entre nós, uma amizade muito bonita e elogiada por pessoas amantes dos pets. Com o tempo, de forma natural e impeceptível, o cão passou a me obedecer em muita coisa, Inclisive não atravessandoa rua sem minha ordem. No mês que completei 66 anos, e o Thor 2,5 anos, por insistênica de amigos e principalmente da minha filha, comprei minha primeira bicicleta da vida. Quando fui pedalar a primeira vez meu corção partiu ao deixar meu amigo. Tentei coloco-lo no guidão, mas ele é grande e eu muito barbeiro. Então encostei a bike e não andei enquanto não comprei um reboque para puxá-lo. Como sou aventureiro por natureza, resolvi criar um desafio: sair de Morrinhos, GO, e chegar até Paraty, RJ, onde mora minha filha. Subscribe, Like Follow Us for the best in Sailin. .The Andoo team of Seve Jarvin, Matt Stenta and Sam Newton became a deserved winner of the 2021-22 100th Australian 18 Footer Championship which concluded on Sydney Harbour today. With three wins, a second and two thirds from the seven races, Andoo finished the championship with a total of 14 points, followed by Smeg (Michael Coxon, Ricky Bridge, Zac Barnabas) on 22 points and Noakesailing (Sean Langman, Ed Powys, Josh Porebski) on 33 points. Defending champion Tech2 (Jack Macartney) finished in fourth place on 37 points, followed by Finport Finance (Keagan York) on 41 points and Lazarus Capital Partners (Marcus Ashley-Jones) on 43 points. Today's racing was split into two distinctive races with the first (Race 6) sailed in a patchy NE breeze and the latter, Race 7, in a much steadier breeze. The defending champion Tech2 team (Jack Macartney, Charlie Wyatt, Lewis Brake) took out Race 6 with an outstanding performance which resulted in a 2m9s victory over The Oak Double Bay-4 Pines (Aron Everett, John Cooley, Charlie Gundy) with Smeg a further 14s back in third place. In a tight finish Shaw and Partners Financial Services (Steve Thomas) came home in fourth place, ahead of Andoo and Ilve (Jono Whitty). Macartney and his team grabbed the lead mid-way up the first beat when they elected to go to the RHS of the course north of Rose Bay and picked up a favourable breeze which enabled Tech2 to lead narrowly from from Shaw & Partners, Rag & Famish Hotel (Harry Price) and Yandoo (John Winning). Tech2's downwind speed and the team's decision to go back to the same side of the course which gave it the lead was a winner and Tech2 totally dominated the rest of the race to score an easy victory. The breeze was more settled and definitely a little fresher as the final race got away with Andoo and Tech2 immediately going into a match race style contest in a pre-start jostle, then up the first windward leg. Jarvin and his team then elected to go to the northern shore (LHS of the course) as they did in the previous race while Macartney and his team repeated their earlier race decision and went to the right. This time, the LHS was far more successful and Ilve led at the top mark from Balmain Slake (Henry Larkings), Noakesailing, Andoo, Finport Finance and Fisher & Paykel (Jordan Girdis). Ilve and Balmain Slake continued to lead the fleet back down the harbour to the bottom mark north of Clark Island before a gear failure to Ilve saw the team forced to retire, leaving Balmain Slake a narrow leader over Noakesailing, Andoo, Finport Finance, Smeg and Fisher & Paykel. A problem for the Balmain Slake team on the spinnaker drop cost it the lead and a good battle developed between Noakesailing and Finport Finance over the entire final lap of the course. With only 200 metres left on the course it appeared that the Sean Langman-led Noakesailing would be the winner before a wonderful finishing burst by Finport Finance, gave Keagan York and his team its best result of the season when they crossed just 1s ahead of Noakesailing. Andoo finished another 11s back in third place, which was enough to give the team its championship victory. In yet another tight finish, Smeg finished fourth ahead of Lazarus Capital Partners and Balmain Slake

One of those pre-winter jobs - cleaning out the stove and flue! I've only had the one fire since moving onboard, and I hadn't yet cleaned out the stove, but it's something I knew I'd have to do before lighting it again. I'm not sure when the previous owners last did it, but it was in a very sorry-looking state! It's not perfect even now, but it's a lot better than it was. Sandwiched between the outside and inside stove jobs, is some lovely cruising! Couldn't have had better weather for this week's footage :)
