Finalmente è successo: dopo mesi di lavoro e il varo, la nostra PRIMA USCITA!🥹⛵️🥳 È stata un’emozione incredibile uscire per la prima volta su Patatraque: dopo anni costretta a terra, la nostra barchetta è stata accolta da un mare piatto e poco vento. Sarà che Nettuno ha voluto farle ricominciare a veleggiare con calma? We finish sailing across the Atlantic after 28 days at sea and arrive at Horta on the island of Faial, Azores. We had to sail very conservatively to protect the rigging so the journey ended up taking much longer than we had hoped. Getting into port with the rig still up was our priority, so we took the win 😁 We are very pleased to have made the crossing back to the Azores from the Caribbean. Nova Vita performed brilliantly the whole way. The rigging was repaired whilst we were here. We ordered 2 new inners which came from the mainland and which we fitted ourselves (a simple task). Horta is a great place to spend some time and it was good to relax here after the crossing.

After checking into Kota Kinabalu, we dive into a few unforgettable adventures — white water rafting through jungle rapids, witnessing incredible fireflies illuminate the riverbanks at night, and soaring high above the coastline while parasailing. It’s the perfect send-off before Emma heads home. We then sail to Dalit Bay, carefully navigating a shallow sandbar in a strong tidal river before anchoring securely. But the drama isn’t over. Another boat fails to negotiate the powerful current and drifts straight into us while we’re at anchor, slamming into our bow and causing damage. We’re forced to carry out temporary repairs to keep No Regrets II strong and watertight. Despite the unexpected collision, we finish on a high note with a wonderful cultural show and rally dinner as part of the Sail Malaysia Rally, celebrating another eventful chapter of the journey. Über Vasiliki, wo ich meine neue Rettungsinsel und neue Westen bekomme, und Nydri fahre ich durch den Kanal von Lefkas nach Preveza, wo die Reise endet.
