Não podíamos deixar de prestigiar a chegada dos irmãos Katoosh que são um dos motivo de estarmos vivendo a bordo hoje, obrigado rapazes pela inspiração, obrigado também a família do Veleiro Liberdade que nos inspira a viver a bordo com uma criança de 2 anos. No mais estamos na segunda semana a bordo, a família vai se acostumando com o balanço constante, as memórias do chão firme e dos confortos de casa vão ficando pra trás, e vamos aprendendo a lidar com o que temos a bordo. A semana foi cheia com treino a bordo, bastante chuva, passeios de bote pelo saco da Ribeira, bastante trabalho e a travessia de Ubatuba a Ilha Grande em Angra dos Reis.

Another opportunity to charter a Seawind 1260 arose, and Toni and I jumped at the chance. This Seawind 1260 was a new 2022 model, Imi Ola, recently displayed at the Spring 2022 Annapolis Sailboat Show. Imi Ola had similar options that Toni and I have discussed, including the 32” TV, Fusion sound system, CZone, underwater lights, radar, solar package, forward sonar, and washer. Monica’s sixth sense kicked in and she timed her visit from Florida just in time to accompany us. We chartered Imi Ola for 5 days. This caused the CZone to automatically go into load shedding mode which would shutoff the autohelm. Once the batteries came up to full charge, there was a setting in CZone that had to be reset. I do not know what this setting was but will need to learn it. I always like it when apparently complex problems have simple solutions.

Heyyooo everybody! Thanks for being here! This week we are finally getting feeling a bit less sniffly and making our way onwards and northwards up the Atlantic coast of Portugal and into Spain (sorry for the spoiler). We will sail from Lisbon to Nazare, which hosts some of the largest waves ever recorded (!!!) and then make another couple of stints until we reach Galicia, Spain. We'll anchor up the river near Aveiro, and also in the outskirts of Porto. The winds that blow along this coast are pretty predictable this time of year. The trade winds that dominate this bit of sea will start to set in around the beginning of May, blowing North to South with very little break in between. With this knowledge in mind, we head north, where the water is blue, the dolphins are cute, and the food is good!
