With just 12 days left before launch, we’re installing what might be the most important system on the entire boat - the wet exhaust! We paid $80K for this boat at auction and banked on our two Yanmar D2-75 motors to work. After some servicing and repairing, that gamble paid off. But the next step to keeping these brand-new-decade-old engines in prime condition is a wet exhaust system that's fail proof. There’s just one small problem…we’ve never done this before. In this episode, we’re cutting into the hull of our 57ft abandoned catamaran, learning fibreglass work on the fly, and hoping our measurements, bogging, glassing are good enough to trust once we’re back in the water. This system has to work because there’s no shortcut, no redo and very little time to correct the mistakes.
