Magnus tries to follow some of the electrical cables from the helm station up to the flybridge. It’s tricky because there are cables everywhere, nothing to code and no labels. It’s a real rat’s nest! We need to collect our car which is parked quite a distance away so after mooring up at the fuel jetty at Horizon Shores Marina we head off in Peanut for her longest trip ever. We take a shortcut through the very shallow and ever-changing creeks and finally get through after quite a few false attempts! We get to see an amazing sight! I sailed single-handed from Madeira to Cape Verde and reached Mindelo on São Vicente after 1107 nautical miles and almost 8 days. All in all, it was a fantastic trip, mostly sailing downwind. Of course, I also took some time to explore the island.
