Tra un viaggio e l' altro in barca a vela nel Mediterraneo con la Maruzza, adoro esplorare i posti meno conosciuti e selvaggi del pianeta. Diversi anni fa e' toccato al Venezuela! Ho passato parecchio tempo negli Llanos, le pianure alluvionali che stanno tra l' Amazzonia e la costa tropicale. E' un posto davvero incredibile, infestato di piranha, caimani e ogni tipo di zanzare! La gente del posto e' dura come il cuoio stagionato ma anche accogliente e gentile e farsi ospitare in una fattoria sperduta nel niente e' davvero facile. Lì dominano i cavalli, le mucche e ogni tipo di fauna selvaggia, dalle anaconde ai caimani; dai delfini di fiume ai capipara, i piu' grandi roditori del mondo! Grossi come cani!! E' bellissimo ma anche un incubo! Vivevo nelle capanne dei locali procurandomi la cena come capitava, esplorando i fiumi in canoa e cercando di sopravvivere con quello che imparavo durante il cammino, Un' esperienza incredibile di liberta' che mi ha preparato per tutte le grandi avventure che poi sono seguite, dall' Africa, all' India ai grandi orizzonti del mare. Separado, morando sozinho num pequeno barraco, com os filhos morando muito distante (dois no Canadá e a caçula em Paraty) já estava aceitando a vida sedentária. Fazia minhas cainhadas diárias e dançava eventualmente. O restante do tempo era ocupado com leitura, rede social e televisão. Em 2022 fui visitar seus filhos no Canadá e meu filho mais velho tinha comprado um pequeno veleiro para navegar no lago de Montreal. Então, num passeio nessa pequena embarcação, meu filho iniciou um diálogo mais ou menos assim: - Velho! Você já foi um grande aventureiro por que não faz mais uma aventura? - Que aventura, cara! – respondi. - Vir de Veleiro do Brasil até o Canadá. Você precisa sair de casa. Precisa de objetivos de vida. - Você está louco? Nunca naveguei e não tenho dinheiro para comprar um veleiro! – retruquei. - Você não tem uma Previdência Privada? - Sim. Tenho. Mas ela é para quando eu ficar velho. É para minha saúde – respondi. - Mas você já não está velho? (emitiu uma sonora gargalhada). Então você retira esse dinheiro e compra um veleiro. Comece a estudar, assistir vídeos e ler livros. Depois você vende o veleiro e repõe a grana. A sugestão do filho foi como um trauma mental para seu velho pai. A partir desse dia aprender sobre velas tornou-se minha obsessão. Tudo na na minha vida foi relacionado à navegação. Comecei a devorar livros e assistir todo tipo de vídeo no YouTube. No primeiro semestre de 2023 tirei a habilitação da Marinha para navegar em lagos (pré-requisito para as demais). No segundo semestre consegui a carteira de Mestre Amador e, finalmente, em abril de 2024, conseguiu a mais temida e difícil prova aplicada pela Marinha do Brasil: Capitão Amador. O material de estudo para essa prova foi enorme. Vários livros, apostilas, curso grátis no YouTube e sites pagos. Havia dias que o velho pensava que seria impossível passar na prova. Coisas estudadas era rapidamente esquecida pela memória sexagenária. A grana para compra do Veleiro estava resguardada. Era só esperar o momento oportuno. Entretanto, restava-me, ainda, uma questão muito importante: equacionar os custos da viagem com sua pequena aposentadoria. A conclusão foi que a grana seria insuficiente, principalmente quando as despesas fossem em outra moeda. Para piorar, descobriu que chegando ao Canadá, seria muito difícil voltar no mesmo caminho, tendo em vista que existe uma corrente marítima contrária. O caminho de volta mais fácil teria que ser pela Europa e África. Ou seja, gastar em euros. O visto para entrada em cada ilha ou país corresponderá a um quarto da minha renda, sem contar comida, óleo diesel e manutenção no veleiro tudo em dólar ou Euro. Apesar dos estudos orçamentários indicar a inviabilidade do projeto, no dia 14/10/24 mudei para um veleiro adquirido na cidade de Salvador. O planejamento da viagem estima dois anos de vida ao mar, cujo planejamento pode ser verificado nos dois primeiros vídeos do canal “Veio Doido no Mar” no YouTube. Pretendo navegar pela costa brasileira, passar pelas Ilhas do Caribe, passar pelo Canadá, Europa e África. Em torno de 18 meses viajando.

Un EPIRB , acronimo che sta per Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, è un radiofaro satellitare di soccorso utilizzato dai diportisti e dalle unita SOLAS , per la richiesta di soccorso in caso di naufragio. Quando viene attivato, infatti, grazie al sistema satellitare COSPAS \ SARSAT , formato dai satelliti LEOSAR (in orbita bassa polare a 100 km di altezza) e ai satelliti GEOSAR (in orbita geostazionaria alta a 36000 km di altezza) l'epirb allerta una rete globale di ricerca e soccorso (SAR), che può prestare soccorso ai naufraghi in ogni parte del mondo individuando la posizione precisa del segnale satellitare in digitale sulla frequenza 406 Mhz emessa dell'epirb. Gli EPIRB possono essere distribuiti manualmente o automaticamente, a seconda della categoria di staffa e della situazione. In un supporto automatico Float Free Categoria 1, l’ EPIRB si sgancia quando l’unità di rilascio idrostatico (HRU) viene immersa in acqua a una profondità compresa tra 1,5 e 4 metri. La profondità di rilascio varia in base alle diverse temperature dell’acqua, richiedendo la sostituzione dell’HRU ogni due anni. In caso di emergenza, l’ EPIRB si stacca dal supporto, riemerge e segnala alle squadre di ricerca e soccorso la necessità di un rapido intervento. Gli EPIRB con staffa di Categoria 2 richiedono l’attivazione e l’attivazione manuale. Possono essere installati sopra o sotto coperta, protetti da agenti esterni (ad esempio, acqua, traffico, porte delle cabine). Alcuni utenti conservano il loro EPIRB in una borsa da diporto, ma si consiglia cautela poiché gli EPIRB si attivano in caso di immersione in acqua, con il rischio di falsi allarmi. In Australia e Nuova Zelanda, gli EPIRB di “Classe 3” non si attivano in acqua, richiedendo solo l’attivazione manuale, garantendo che le loro prestazioni non siano compromesse dall’esposizione all’acqua. Attivare un EPIRB solo in caso di pericolo grave e imminente, in cui è probabile la perdita di vite umane, arti o beni di valore senza assistenza di emergenza.
