We live self-reliant in Alaska aboard a four-season sailboat. In this video, we share our first weeks living aboard after leaving the shipyard, settling into winter life afloat in Southeast Alaska. From deciding whether to anchor or stay in the harbor, to learning the boat, navigating weather, earning income, and finding our rhythm again, this is what real life aboard actually looks like. Alaskan Gypsy Life documents self-reliance on the water, lived day by day and season by season. No performance, no exaggeration. Just the reality of building a capable, intentional life afloat in Alaska. We’ve also just opened YouTube Memberships, where we’ll be sharing live conversations, behind-the-scenes moments, and deeper check-ins from life aboard. Our first members-only live will be Friday night. We’re deeply grateful for the support that makes this way of life and this channel possible. Over the years, I've watched hundreds of people step on a yacht for the first time. The nervous energy. The questions. The "I don't know if I can do this" moment. And then something shifts. This series is about those moments. The real reactions. The faces. The "oh, I actually love this" realizations. Over 600+ people have sailed with us, will you be next?
Unsere Reise durch den Golf von Korinth ostwärts geht nach der Besichtigung Delphis weiter, wir wettern eine Starkwindnacht in Drepano ab und fahren am nächsten Tag weiter in die Seepferdchenbucht.

In this 17-minute video, I take you into the lazarette of the s/v Alaskan Gypsy to wrestle with a critical piece of the steering system: the rudder post. We are working on restoring this 1992 80' OA steel triple masted schooner in the Wrangell, Alaska shipyard to make it into our 4 - seasons liveaboard life of adventure platform. What starts as a “this should just drop right out of here” job turns into a battle with rust, old packing, and decades of corrosion. With some heat, PB Blaster, and patience, we finally drop the post out of the boat - revealing exactly why a non-stainless steel shaft doesn’t belong in a packing gland. But really, maybe 33 years of faithful service is enough!? If you’re into DIY boat repair, steel schooner restoration, and shipyard problem-solving, you’ll probably be able to stay awake for most of this production. Subscribe & follow along as we rebuild our 80’ steel motor-sailer in Wrangell, Alaska — one stubborn part at a time. 00:00 – Intro: Rudder Wrangle in the Lazarette 00:20 – Why the Rudder Post Had to Come Out 01:15 – Checking the Steering Rams & Connections 02:00 – Packing Gland & Rust Concerns 03:00 – Outside Hull Inspection: Suspected Leaks 05:00 – Tying Off the Rudder Post for Safety 06:00 – Time-Lapse: Heating, PB Blaster & Patience 08:40 – Next Morning: Progress with the Packing Gland 11:00 – Digging Out Old Packing Material 13:40 – Final Shreds of Packing Pulled Free 15:40 – Rudder Post Drops Out of the Boat! 17:10 – Examining the Corroded Rudder Post 18:30 – Lessons Learned & Next Steps for the Refit #AlaskanGypsy #BoatRestoration #SteelBoat #ShipyardLife #BoatDIY #RudderRepair #BoatRefit #WrangellAlaska
This German Frers 651 combines timeless design with serious sailing performance. Built with solid craftsmanship and recently extensively refitted, she is ready for comfortable and safe shorthanded sailing. Highlights include a furling genoa and staysail, three electric main winches, bow thruster, and all reefing lines led to the cockpit. In 2022 she received a new 12 mm teak deck, new rod rigging and new sails, making her a very complete and well-prepared sailing yacht for longer passages or relaxed coastal cruising. This yacht will be auctioned online via Bright Auctions, offering a unique opportunity to acquire a well-known German Frers design. Want to see her in person? http://www.pinkrambutan.com/immune/ CLICK ON THE LINK TO OPEN THE ARTICLE. This is maybe the most important article which I have ever wrote in the last years for my different websites. During the next weeks and months it will be more important than ever before to have a good and strong immune system. If you're looking for ways to boost your immune system, here are 4 key steps. NOTE: None of these things on their own will prevent or cure the coronavirus, of course — but building a strong immune system is considered one of the best ways to keep yourself as healthy as possible overall. (And don't forget this tremendously important health advice: Wash your hands!) Stay healthy and save - yours The Sailing Family
noco genius charger is defective, but I have to pay shipping and wait a month (or more?) to get this fixed. look, they may fix this if I complain, but you shouldn't have to complain. their default system isn't acceptable for using on a boat. great stuff for a garage, but don't rely on this company to keep you up and running.
At The Multihull Company, we believe that a true blue-water catamaran shouldn't force you to choose between the thrill of the wind and the comforts of home. In this video, we invite you to discover the Privilège Way of Sailing—a philosophy rooted in the idea that your vessel should be as robust as a fortress and as refined as a luxury villa. The Soul of an Ocean Voyager A Privilège is not just built; it is engineered for the long haul. While many modern catamarans prioritize "condo-style" volume at the expense of seaworthiness, the Privilège range—including the iconic Signature 510 and 580—utilizes a unique structural backbone and a deep-V hull design. This ensures a smooth, "dry" ride even when the North Atlantic decides to get rowdy. What Defines the Privilège Experience? The Master Suite Revolution: Experience the legendary "Owner’s Sanctuary" located in the central pod. It offers a level of privacy, space, and quietude that is simply unmatched in the 50–60ft catamaran market. Artisan Craftsmanship: Every cabinet, joint, and surface is hand-finished in Les Sables-d'Olonne. We invite you to look inside the lockers and under the floorboards—the quality remains consistent even where the eye doesn't typically roam. Performance Under Pressure: With a high-aspect rig and optimized weight distribution, a Privilège maintains impressive passage-making speeds without the "hobby-horsing" common in lighter, less balanced designs. Safety by Design: From the reinforced bow sections to the intuitive, protected helm stations, every Privilège is built to be a safe haven for you and your family. Experience the Difference with The Multihull Company As the authorized partner for Privilège Marine, The Multihull Company (TMC) provides more than just a brokerage service. We offer a gateway to a lifestyle of refined adventure. Our team has sailed these waters and these boats—we know exactly why a Privilège stands alone at the top of the luxury catamaran market. World under sail, episode 23. Countless preparations are necessary before crossing the Atlantic. Due to a nerve-racking shipyard stay with delays, we still find time for the last forays into the island. ...In the video we try to make the hectic, delays and tension understandable crossing the Atlantic . http://annamera.de Seit sechs Jahren leben wir unseren Traum von einer Weltreise unter Segeln. I walk through how I run two to four foundation sessions, including a 90‑minute first session, health baseline assessments and inventories, values and strengths work, and visioning that leads into SMART long‑ and short‑term goals. You’ll see why these coach‑led foundation sessions boost client confidence, improve behavior change outcomes, and set the stage for effective planning, tracking, and accountability in health coaching programs. I also share sample agendas for the first three foundation sessions so you can implement this crucial step immediately and guide clients through sustainable health and wellness transformation. 📱 Follow Me On Social Media: IG: https://www.instagram.com/michellehealthcoach/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/MichelleMacLeanHealthCoaching

Sam is finally HOME… and it feels so good to have our crew back together again 🤍 After weeks away working offshore, we’re making the most of our time together back in Gladstone. This week, we join our good mate James for a sea trial on his uncle’s newly purchased boat — putting her through her paces and seeing how she performs out on the water. Then the next day turns into something pretty special… We head off on a spontaneous tiki tour around Gladstone with friends from MV Nelson Star. Living on a boat means we can move our home and travel, and one of the most incredible parts of this lifestyle is the friendships we build and the adventures we share.
