Today we depart Grenada for the last time this season. We had a great summer with many friends in the area, and many thanks to Grenada for keeping us safe during another hurricane season! Our first crew for this set of SIRENS OF SAILING is Alice from Canada, she is onboard and ready for a new adventure! From Grenada we set sail for Union Island and even encountered a pod of dolphins which is a great omen for the beginning of our trip! in the Grenadines we will receive our second crew Katie, and then will sail on to St Vincent to meet final 2 crew... the fun is about to begin! In Part 3, Ben talks about where he's sailed, some of the most difficult sailing situations he's experienced, encountering dangerous conditions in the Gulf Stream, heaving to, and his future plans. Ben Stookey was introduced to sailing at a very young age by his parents. His father sailed a 21 foot sailboat from England to Antigua in the Mini Transat Race in 1977. When Ben was 14, his parents bought a boat in Finland and they spent years cruising all over Europe. Ben's first year of high school was in Spain. Today, Ben lives aboard a Nonsuch 26 named 'Swallow.' He is currently cruising the US East coast, and earning a living from computer programming remotely aboard his boat using a wifi connection.
