(L'arcipelago delle Egadi è formato dalle isole di Favignana, Marettimo, Levanzo e gli isolotti di Formica e Maraone). Isola rocciosa calcarea di 278 mt di altezza. Il perimetro della costa è di 15 Km. circa, e la superficie è di 5,82 Km quadrati. IL PAESE Il paese assunse tale sembianza intorno al 1850. Oggi, un villaggio di case di circa 250 abitanti insiste sull'isola, e il piccolo molo portuale costituisce l'approdo per aliscafi e tragheti. si ammira, ancora oggi, una antica torre saracena (torre di avvistamento). IL CLIMA La mitezza del clima , le scogliere stupende, il mare limpido, i tramonti mozzafiato, i prati e i cespugli della vegetazione aromatica, mediterranea, ne fanno un posto incantevole... STORIA Nella Cala del Genovese , a 30 mt sul livello del mare, è stata scoperta nel 1949 una grotta di alto interesse artistico e scientifico proprio per la presenza di graffiti del paleolitico superiore e del periodo dell'età del rame. NOTIZIE Nell'isola, due alberghi-ristorante hanno la capacità di 70 posti letto, alcuni posti letto si trovano nelle famiglie. Un chilometro di strada, contradistingue la possibilità di circolazione automobilistica; la guardia medica è permanente. Non vi sono campeggi, ed il campeggio libero è vietato. ESCURSIONI IN BARCA Levanzo, isola di quiete e di silenzio.... Le gite in barca a vela, magari con i charter nautici, attorno all'isola, fanno godere della bellezza del mare cristallino e incontaminato, passare delle intere giornate immersi nella totale libertà che questa isola sa dare..... rigenera l'anima, e ammorbidisce il carattere.....
