"THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THEY USED TO!" This boat was bought new from Shuswap Marina in 1985, and has been moored, stored and serviced here its entire life! A Mercruiser 170hp 4 cylinder inboard outboard powers this boat and has never let the owners down. Being year round moorage and storage customers they have never had a trailer for it so we have provided one (not shown in pictures) which is a brand new Tuff Trailer, Galvanized trailer. Upholstery and canvas is all in decent shape. It's a very deep vee hull, and the bow seating is the deepest I have ever seen! All floors feel solid still, and mechanical inspection was passed easily! It has been detailed every year for at least the last 6 years and the red still looks RED in most places on the boat! A great starter boat for a small family, ready to go, on the trailer.
Australian Sailing's Colin Harrison, Jonathan Harris and Russell Boaden won Australia's first medal at ISAF Sailing World Cup Hyères on Friday, when they took out bronze in the Paralympic Sonar medal race. Gold went to the crews from Great Britain, silver to France. It was a challenging day for Olympic Champions Nathan Outteridge (NSW) and Iain Jensen (NSW) when were hit by another boat resulting in capsize and injury to Nathan that caused them to abandon Friday's racing. A successful appeal for redress awarded them average points, putting them into overall fifth before the medal race.
After more than four weeks to take down the paint of Karl's botom, it took only two to put the first layer of etching primer on. It seems that everything went well and I am super happy. Cause only seven more coats and Karl is back in the water! Find out more about my life with KARL on www.facebook.com/whitespotpirates. See how to launch your Single person dinghy. Here we use the Laser but the same principles apply to other sailboats
When launching a small sailboat there are some common mistakes, This video helps to identify what these are so you don't make them when you are launching a dinghy / sailboat
Cross shore winds are another common wind direction. This is arguably the easiest beach to come ashore to as the wind direction keeps you clear of the no go zone and waves are generally not present on this type of beach.
This video introduces the concept of beach recovery and reminds you of the different wind directions you can expect on any beach.
Offshore winds can be tricky to land on. The wind tries to blow you out to sea, so be careful of launching in an offshore wind as you will need to land again. If you do need to land when the wind is blowing away from the shore then this video will show you what to do
Here are some common mistakes for beach landing that I see time over when teaching people to sail. This video sets them out to help you understand how to spot them
Onshore winds are probably the most common beach environment to experience. This is often due to a sea breeze effect that occurs at most beaches. This video helps you to identify what an onshore wind is and how to come back ashore in such conditions.
This how to sail video will help identify the common mistakes on pontoon launching. Try to remember these and spot them as you are learning to sail
This how to sail video explains what a pontoon is and how to launch the boat as you are learning to sail. We show you the steps of how to prepare for launch and then what to do when the boat is on the pontoon
In this how to sail video you will see a good way to return to a pontoon. This video shows you what they are and help you learn to sail. Look out for the other 108 how to sail videos on our channel
This how to sail video will help you to identify common mistakes when learning to sail and using a pontoon.
This video introduces you to what you may like to aim at on your first sail. The video shows you how to start and stop, the principles of turning around, what the wind means and how to identify where it is blowing from. This is sailing at its most basic form. On the channel are many more specific videos about other aspects of sailing.
Where to sit? This is important to understand. This video shows you where to sit on your single person dinghy. We are using the Laser dinghy in all our training videos, but the same principles apply to pretty much any boat you come across.
Sails, what are they and what do they do? How does a sail work and how do I control the sail? these are all regular questions and this video shows you what to do and how to identify what happens on the sail as you adjust it.
Basic maneuvres for your first sail afloat. This video will show you a few to try and achieve and also how to avoid being stuck in irons when the boat is head to wind.
Turning around. This video shows you a very basic way of turning. Watch the tacking playlist for a much more detailed explanation but this explanation is a good one to follow first day out
On your first sail there is a lot to watch out for. What is the wind doing, where is it blowing from, how do I start and stop and control my speed. You will be full of enthusiasm and questions but will also make lots of really basic mistakes. This video illustrates just a few of the common mistakes that I spot when people are learning to sail.
Watch this video for the Key Learning Points for your first sail. As with the Key learning points for the other videos on our channel, I have tried to make these easy to spot and help you to identify what they might be so you can look out for them and try and avoid the trips.
As you learn to sail, tacking is one of the major manoeuvres to learn. Tacking takes the boat from one side of what we call the no go zone to the other. It allows a sailboat to change direction through the wind. This video introduces the concept of tacking and sets up the remaining videos in this playlist. This video is one of 109 in our how to sail series, so check out the rest of the channel for others to help you as you learn to sail
Land drill really helps you to understand what to do with your hands during a manoeuver. Follow the steps we illustrate here and have a go yourself before going afloat. Avoiding bad habits is a good thing to do, so a well practiced land drill will help here.
Tacking is the maneuvre needed to turn a sailboat through the wind. The term applies to all sailboats. In this video we use a laser but the same principles apply to any one person sailboat. This video will show you how to tack afloat and forms part of our longer playlist. We have broken our videos of how to sail a sailboat into small bite sized chunks to make it easy for you to understand. Search for the full playlist for the rest of the sequence. We have created these free how to sail videos for you to enjoy and learn, so tell your friends. Our payback comes from the ads so sorry about those, but we need to get a return on our time and investment. Happy sailing

How to sail. This video shows you the Key learning points tacking a sailboat. Here we show you what they are so you can easily remember them as you learn to sail. Use these to help guide you through the process of how to tack a sailboat sailed singlehanded
As you learn to sail, good hand technique is important to help you remain in control when doing the gybe. Here we show you the steps slowly on a land based simulator for clarity to help you to see how to sail a small sailboat. It is a good idea to try this before you go afloat for the first time. Bad habbits are often hard to correct so understanding what to do with your hands is important to learn.
Are you learning how to sail? This video introduces the concept of gybing a small sailboat. Gybing is the manoeuvre where the boat turns as you are sailing away from the wind. As you learn to sail, Gybing is considered slightly more complex than tacking which we recommend you master first as you learn how to sail. With the Gybe the trick is balancing the boat. Be prepared to move your weight extremely fast as the boom flicks across the boat. This video is one of 109 videos in our how to sail series. Search the rest of our channel for other videos to help you learn to sail.
Leaning to sail? Then you must be aware of common mistakes. When I teach people to sail, there are common mistakes in all areas. Gybing has several common mistakes as you learn how to sail. Here I have tried to illustrate them for you to see what they are and then hopefully spot them before they happen to you.
