Bow Caddy Media settled into their usual position at North Head with a few drinks and nibbles and caught the fleet as they headed north out of the harbour. In a NNE wind around 16-18 knots, Chinese Whisper and Ichi Ban were the first out of the heads and caught our attention in the dying light.

Building and testing an emergency rudder for a Norvane windvane on the 28-foot Pearson Triton sailboat, Atom. The rudder sleeve size is double the area (10" x 34") of the original Norvane servo rudder, which is 7" x 24". To balance the rudder I kept 20% of surface area forward of the axis.

Windsurfing the mountain lakes of Norway in autumn is something else - the landscape really adds an extra dimension to the fun of windsurfing. Its clean, its clear and its cold, some gusts even brought snow with them! For me this is still the ultimate windsurfing experience - alone on a freezing lake, near the face of one of Norways largest mountain massives - the Hallingskarvet. A great venue to break in my new Switchblades from Loftsails! They gave a great first impression - cant wait to test them some more :)
