Sailing to Madagascar, woooo hooo!!!! We leave the amazing Chagos Archipelago and set sail for Madagascar about 1,500 miles away. Our battery charger decides to call it quits so we face a power shortage onboard. Capt. Breeyawn busts out his fix it skills and get our wind generator running, then hooks up our old tow generator to try and keep the batteries charged. It works but is still not enough and the crew is gonna have to hand steer for the entire trip because there's not enough power for the autopilot. The crew is adjusting well but feeling a little seasick the first few days. The sailing is EPIC and Delos is making good time. Since it's the last sail for half the crew there is time for lot's of reflection and we play a little game called "Thought Of The Day" where you just say whatever it is on your mind at that moment. This is our story, a story of three souls sailing around the world. It is a story about sailing, but it's also a story about the fantastic people we meet and amazing places we see. It's a story of people living their lives in an alternate way, in close connection with the beautiful people and amazing planet that we call home. Our experience has affected us so profoundly we want to share it, hoping that others may find inspiration to follow their dreams and do what they love. Tutoriel spécial enrouleur pour savoir : • Pourquoi changer son enrouleur sur son voilier ? • Comment bien choisir son enrouleur ? • Comment installer un enrouleur de génois ? • Comment entretenir et utiliser son enrouleur de grand voile ? Comment savoir quand on doit changer son enrouleur ? Sur votre voilier quand vous allez démonter votre enrouleur, il faut vérifier l’état des joints étanches qui permettent de conserver les roulements de l’enrouleur, à l’abri de l’humidité et du sel. Si le joint spi est déchiré, il fait partir toute la graisse et le roulement se retrouve à l’air libre. Ce sont des roulements en acier. Quand le roulement se met à gratter et à forcer, c’est là que l’enrouleur va devenir dangereux pour la réduction d’une voilure. C’est visible aussi bien au niveau du tambour que de l’émerillon. Quand on fait la révision de l’enrouleur de grand-voile, il faut bien contrôler la partie émerillon et la partie tambour. Quand il y a un problème, c’est que la drisse est prise au niveau de l’émerillon. Il n’y a plus de rotation et quand on met l’enrouleur en mouvement, l’émerillon se met à tourner avec l’enrouleur. La conséquence est que la drisse s’enroule autour de l’étai et on peut aller jusqu’au démâtage du voilier. Comment choisir le bon enrouleur pour son bateau ? • Déterminer son emplacement : baie de mouillage ou pont • Déterminer le type de profilé pour le tube : rond ou elliptique Comment installer un enrouleur Profurl ? L’enrouleur Profurl C350 est un modèle ras le pont avec un axe qui permet de fixer l’étai où l’on vient intégrer la chape directement dedans. L’enrouleur est au minimum de hauteur par rapport au pont. Un système de micro latte permet de le surélever si on a une chaine ou une ancre à faire passer. On peut rajouter une chape pour rehausser le tambour pour permettre au cardan de bouger dans les trois dimensions. Des lattes supplémentaires peuvent y être ajoutées dans le bloc de l’enrouleur et proposées par le fabricant.
