The 6th stopover was held in Panama City from 19 to 27 February 2018.Together the SUEZ Group and the Race For Water Foundation put on a unique event for Central America: “RESIDUOS RECICLADOS, OCÉANOS LIMPIOS”. The Race for Water Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the water and the oceans in particular. Today, seriously under threat from plastic pollution, it is imperative that this essential resource for life is protected. To prevent plastic waste from reaching the waterways and oceans by developing social models and business models that give value to plastic waste and hence encourage its collection. At the end of february we were the second divegroup this year on the Seawolf Dominator. Our tour was called "Best of Sudan" and we visited many famous divesites, including Sha'ab Rumi, Sha'ab Jumna and the wreck of the Umbria. We had wonderful conditions with sometimes strong current, which lead to many shark encounters: - Hammerhead Sharks (group of up to 100 individuals) - Grey Reef Sharks - Silky Sharks - White Tip Reef Sharks Thanks a lot to the crew and the wonderful dive guides who gave us the best underwater experience possible. Also a big thanks to Eva, who gave me the shot from 2:56 - 3:04. Camera: GoPro Hero 6 Accessories: Red Dive Filter, Dive Housing waterproof to 60m Music: LU2VYK & River - Castaway (All rights of the song belong to their respective owners.) Thanks for watching! Yes it does snow in the Canaries! And this year was exceptional as the snow fall was in lower altitudes and abundant. My friend Saray came to visit for a few days and we went on some excursions. We visited Cueva del Viento, one of the world's longest lava tunnels. And up to snow capped El Tiede. As a native of Lanzarote, she had never touched snow before, we found some in shady areas around the mountain and her expression tell all. The weather was cold and constantly changing, so it was not the best time to sail, but a great day to visit Casa del Carnaval. A warm up to the upcoming Carnaval de Santa Cruz. The Anchor Setup - Part 4 - The Anchor Rode This episode is a Throwback project video, one of many I will be uploading every couple of weeks. As I mentioned before I undertook a lot of major projects in preparation for the Channel Islands trip and I shot a ton of video. In this video I splice my rope rode to my 3/8 bbb anchor chain then I measured out all of my rode, 80 feet of chain and 600 feet of rope, and marked every 20 feet with colored zip ties. Then I started the process of stowing it all in my new anchor locker. It was quite a chore to do alone as the rope rode keep getting tangled up and required a lot to get it all in the locker and laid down. I know many of my subscribers really enjoy the refit videos so I will be working these in over the next couple of months. I just couldn’t wait to share my adventure videos, as that is the entire reason I worked so hard on these projects to allow me the ability to sail and explore new places. Thanks for watching! GIVEAWAY WITH ABACO POLARIZED SUNGLASSES! Details below. Our fun in Lynyard Cay continues! Before the strong winds hit us we spend one more day exploring the island by dinghy, heading out to the south side to see if there is any good snorkeling for us. We don't find that, but what we do find is a landscape that is just a little bit alien to us. When the strong easterly winds do fill in we make the short walk across the island to check out the waves as they crash in from the Atlantic side. While being in the protection of the island, it's great to be able to appreciate the ferocity mother nature can throw your way. When the winds settle down enough for us to travel, we up anchor and make our way north again. Passing by the North Bar Channel, we experience a little bit of swell caused by the days of easterly winds. Elements handled the waves like a champ, and soon we were back to the protection of the island and perfect sailing. Because so many people have been questioning our traveler set-up, we jump just a little bit ahead to explain how we have our mainsail set up, and Matt shows the pros and cons of what we're currently working with. The end of the day, though, brings us to stunning Tahiti Beach and a great spot to spend an afternoon relaxing. Cheers from the Bahamas! Thank you SO MUCH to our Patrons.
