HP Sailing first Training in Rio. Besides sailing, we also did some good workouts, joint mobility and sightseeing! Special thanks to Thomas Low-Beer, who invited us to stay at the great Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro.

Local marina Phare Bleu organize a "dinghy concert" and we find this means the whole concert is floating out in the Caribbean Sea! Cruising sailors have rafted their dinghies together and tied up to a barge and tugboat - where Canadian Folk Duo Madison Violet are converting new fans with their catchy music.

During our trip from Kemah to Corpus, we motored for a while, barely sailed due to calm wind and seas and when we were coming back into Port Aransas from the Gulf of Mexico, we heard a puffing sound and after a while realized we had a dolphin swimming right next to the boat. He was there for a good 30 minutes or so. Enough that we took a few photos and then I walked up to the bow of the boat and laid on deck holding my hand just above the water line and filmed for about 5 or 6 minutes. I have cut out the time between when the dolphin surfaced, but you can see just how he was just swimming along with us. At the very end of the video you can see him just surface right in the bow wake. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "How to repair a wooden mast, boom, spar or Bulkhead (Step by Step) " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nxr-yxUjvQ -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

http://www.divingadelaide.com.au http://www.onlinedivegear.com.au We drove all the way out to Rapid Bay to dive with a group of our ex Open Water students and their friends (7 in total) on the old Rapid Bay Jetty! The plan was to do a double dive and explore as much of the jetty as we could and to get to at least the T-section to see the massive schools of fish that are always swimming in between the many pylons of the T! As soon as we arrived, we recognised the "milky glow" that Rapid Bay can have after heavy rainfall and we feared the worse, but a quick walk on the jetty revealed that the visibility at the entry point was still quite good (we could easily see the bottom), so we decided to kit up and get ready for the first dive! The visibility was great on the first dive (about 10m) and there wasn't any current running (which was lucky, as a group of divers exiting the water said that they had to work hard as there was quite a strong current while they were diving)! The visibility on the second dive was a bit less (the tide was now going out, so the milkyness was being washed out, so we had a "murky 5-10m visibility". We did get to the T-section on the second dive and even had a quick look around the old pylons behind the T and the massive a-frame that has been on the inside of the T for ages. The water temperature was a steady 18 degrees Celsius. Buen viento! Our catamaran, Mambo Diablo (Salina 48), left Santa Cruz de Tenerife on November 10 2013 bound for Martinique with seven crew. Ahead, 3200 miles and 25 days of ocean sailing. After a stopover in Cape Verde, we restarted the journey to the Caribbean driven by trade winds of a soft but steady character which favored a very comfortable ride. A fantastic experience which we are extremely proud. Our season starts now (December 2013) in the Lesser Antilles and will finish at the end of May with a new journey, this time from Martinique to San Blas (Panama), where we will spend the summer touring this idyllic archipelago. If you want to join any of our cruises, contact us at infocharter@catamaranadventures.net. Good wind!
