** NOW SOLD ** Kachina is a 2008 Catalina Morgan 440 listed exclusively for sale with YOTI on Pittwater. This is a high volume, solid and extremely well equipped cruising yacht. Late model large Catalina’s are rare in Australia and to find one in this condition is unique. The 440 is a Deck Saloon offering a beautiful and practical interior with a two double cabin layout with two heads. The aft cabin has easy access to the utility cabin (also accessed from the cockpit) which includes massive storage space and the option to utilise two spare berths in the form of a twin bunk. The galley is to starboard and links the cockpit and the saloon perfectly. There is both a fridge and separate freezer. The raised saloon space is comfortable and capitalises on the large Deck Saloon windows. The saloon table electrically lowers to create and additional double berth or day bed. Designed by Murray Burns and Dovell, the Sydney 39 Cruiser Racer is designed to be a highly competitive race yacht but can also double as a fast family cruiser. Keeping with the cruiser-racer approach, an electric winch is fitted to hoist the mainsail and trim the mainsheet. Two sets of buttons on either side of the big composite steering wheel let the trimmer adjust the main on either tack. Come along as we tour a Brewer Pan Oceanic 46. It's the biggest sailboat we've ever considered buying! As you may already know, we are on the hunt for our next cruising sailboat. To ensure that nothing slips past us we check for new listings multiple times a day. We were aware of this Pan Oceanic 46 coming onto the market within an hour of the listing being posted. We immediately called the Seller, scheduled a viewing, and within 24 hours of the boat being advertised we were walking down the dock towards it. Our initial impressions of her were quickly shattered within the first few seconds of descending the companionway, because at that time we discovered that the ceiling height throughout much of the boat is about 2" less than the required standing height of good ole Cap'n Ben. This was a shocking discovery on a boat this size. Ben requires 6ft+ of headroom, but this particular PO46 only offers around 5'10". We figure that the Pan Oceanic 46 in stock form probably does have at least 6ft of standing headroom, but this one with its modified ceiling liner has much less. Our best guess is that the prior owner may have reduced the ceiling height when he replaced the original ceiling liner with the wood planking. There was so much that we liked about this boat and if it weren't for the lack of standing headroom, we would have made an offer. The HUGE flush deck, updated rigging, new sails, new Yanmar engine, new generator, and plenty of additional gear made this Pan Oceanic 46 a very attractive prospect. Sure it needs plenty of cosmetic TLC, but we feel like this Pan Oceanic 46 has great potential. If only Cap'n Ben was 5'9" tall this PO46 could have been our next cruising sailboat. This Pan Oceanic 46 is still for sale. TRES MARES is a sailboat built in the Belliure shipyard in Alicante, Spain in 1985. It is a fiberglass reinforced polyester sailboat designed by the prestigious naval architect Peter Ibold. The yacht has been commissioned to America by her first owner. In 1993 her second owner returned the yacht to Spain under the Spanish flag and he kept her until 2012. It has been very hard for him to decide to sell the boat due to his emotional attachment to the yacht. The third and actual owner is a family that has been living onboard for the last 7 years. Tres Mares was for them a life project enjoying their family's daily life. The actual owners started working on its restoration as soon as they bought it. The yacht has a classic line constructed to test all types of sea conditions. They made a complete refit on many parts of the boat such as a complete refurbishment of the motor, improvements on the galley, replacement of the upholstery, and many other things. During these last 7 years, they have been enjoying sailing with friends and family around the Balearic Islands, Columbretes, and the Mediterranean coast. Granddaddy had been stationed there during World War II. We fantasized about hopping on a sailboat and sailing around the world. Our imaginations soon turned into interests and those interests grew like a weed. We began reading books, watching videos, and practicing knots. Before we knew it we were signing up for sailing lessons and taking offshore sailing courses. Last year we started looking at boats for sale. Now, nearly 6 years later, we are proud owners of the beautiful vessel, Moon Drifter. Moon Drifter is an extremely well taken care of and maintained single owner catamaran. Her Previous owners, Ralph and Helen, purchased her brand new in 2008 and sailed her seasonally throughout the Sea of Cortez up until they handed over the lines to us in 2021.
