This Sunseeker Predator 68 from 2017 is powered by two 1200hp strong MAN V8 diesel engines with low engines hours. She has only been privately used and constantly professionally maintained to a high standard. Nice features are her teak-topped hydraulic submersible boarding platform, a garage which opens at the push of a button housing a Williams 325 Turbojet, her ample teak-laid aft deck and the large lounge areas fore and aft. Although measuring an impressive 21.20m overall, this Predator can easily be steered and manoeuvred thanks to her bow- and stern thruster, joystick steering, Yacht controller system and dynamic positioning system. The Side Power stabilizer system will reduce the roll of the boat and makes a huge difference in comfort. Furthermore, equipped with; a generator, comprehensive Simrad navigation equipment, Besenzoni telescopic hydraulic passerelle, life raft, wetbar with grill, sink, fridge and ice maker, etc. The deck lights, speakers throughout, the elegant deck fittings and the deluxe upholstery complete the picture. The saloon of this Sunseeker Predator 68 is on the same level as the aft deck. The glazing and the view is impressive; by just pushing a button, the salon door and the starboard rear glass can be lowered into the floor and voila: the aft deck and the saloon turn into a vast living space! And by pushing yet another button the enormous electric overhead sunroof can be opened as well. She accommodates up to 6 overnight guests in her 3 cabins and her 3 bathrooms; an impressive full-beam master cabin with vanity desk, settee and dedicated dressing room amidships, a guest cabin with two single beds located to starboard, and an ample VIP cabin located forward. Further to that, there is a crew cabin for two persons with own toilet and shower located aft. Of course; she is fitted out with everything to make your stay on board even more comfortable, like; a high spec air conditioning system, dishwasher, washer/dryer, wine fridge, luxurious finishes, a full entertainment package, and even a sauna feature in one of the bathrooms. In our last episode, we *insisted* that we were not going to buy a boat. In this episode, we will give you a tour of the boat that we absolutely, positively bought. Our boat is a 1990 Catalina 42, with 3 cabins and 2 heads (a naughtical term for a bathroom). We are the fourth owners of her, and previous owners have done a pretty good job of maintaining her as well as updating her systems. Still, when we bought her there were some things (like her battery banks) that needed replacing, and there were other things that we knew we wanted to add to the boat (like solar panels) to make our lives aboard more comfortable and self-sufficient. We will go into some detail about these systems in upcoming episodes, but for now we'll just give you a tour of our floating home! As I say in the video, we would be happy to address any questions that you have about the boat - just leave a comment below and we will either answer it in the comments or we will add a portion to an upcoming video to answer the questions. In der Trellis Bay fahren wir mit dem Dingy vom Ankerplatz zum Dingy Dock und stehen nach nur wenigen Schritten vor dem Abfertigungsgebäude um meinen Sohn Tobias abzuholen. Um uns die Wartezeit zu vertreiben, schlendern wir durch eine Künstlerkolonie. Hier finden die berühmten Fullmoonparties statt. Leider hatten wir diese knapp verpasst. In der White Bay Guana Islands waren wir schon einmal und haben vergeblich versucht den Anker zum Halten zu bringen. Diesmal klappte es nach einigen Anläufen, es gibt nur wenige Sandfelder. Obwohl Guana Islands eine Privatinsel ist, begegnen die Mitarbeiter uns während unserer Wanderung ausgesprochen freundlich. Die White Bay auf Jost van Dyke ist ein Phänomen. Hier treffen sich amerikanische Katamarancrews und treiben in ihrer laut-fröhlichen Art mit einem Getränk in der Hand stundenlang im lauwarmen Wasser. Auch wir ordern einen Painkiller bei Soggys und setzen uns mit den Füßen im Wasser an den Strand. In der Privateer Bay auf Norman Islands tauchen wir in die dortigen Höhlen und segeln anschließend weiter in die Bucht Little Harbour auf Peter Islands. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich. Our weather window for the season is quickly shrinking as we make much needed repairs in Brazil, then the bad news arrives and threatens our plan to sail around Cape Horn & the rest of the world. Bluewater sailing isn't always easy. #sailing #brazil #sailingaroundtheworld We've arrived in Ilhabela Brazil and have been accepted into the country to make repairs before our plans of heading south to Cape Horn. We try to make quick work of it and even make a few friends in our short stay there. Smiles and good times are shared after our longest passage at sea. Brazil turned out to be such a beautiful surprise and we are so grateful for their hospitality. But soon we are confronted with a big decision after reading news that could alter our plans significantly. So who is this crazy sailing couple making fun videos to share? Well, we are Kate and Curtis. As race winning regatta sailors, we already knew how to sail before we both sold up and headed out to sea, and had the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! We enjoy both solo sailing (while the other is sleeping) and doublehanded sailing (as a couple). Many people want to know if we are like Sailing la Vagabonde, well not quite. We don't have a catamaran, there are no kids (yet), and our plan from the get go was to go around the world via the southern ocean. Before we left we did watch (and still do), and were inspired by other sailing channels such as Gone With The Wynns, Nahoa, Sailing Uma, Project Atticus, and well of course the original, SV Delos. Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months doing a bit of boat restoration and re-fitting in Rhode Island with solar panels, lithium batteries, a watermaker, wind power, and more and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, installing a inner forestay (cutter rig staysail) and new rudder bearings, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. After leaving the Azores we sailed to Tenerife. From there we have left on a huge voyage, transatlantic again, this time to South America as we head for our goal of rounding cape horn to enter the pacific ocean. We now live off grid on our sailboat, and we have sailed over 10,000 bluewater miles to date. Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. Unlike the Lucia 40 that was unveiled three years ago, the Aura 51 that the public will discover at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival is not a prototype but a production catamaran. As such, Fountaine Pajot is the second major multihull builder to attempt to make an electric drivetrain a permanent feature. Lagoon launched their hybrid 420 back in 2006 but ultimately had to back out. We divert to a new country to make repairs on our sailboat, but will the grant us entry? You won't believe what we see when we arrive to this unplanned location! #sailing #sailingaroundtheworld #brazil After three weeks at sea it nips at our nerves that we have so much uncertainty about what the future holds. But we are well prepared with enough food, water, and fuel to carry on to the next place if we have to! The port we find to enter is not a normal one for small yachts to enter the country, and our research on Brazil hasn't told us too much since we originally did not intend to come here... See what happens when we finally make landfall! So who is this crazy sailing couple making fun videos to share? Well, we are Kate and Curtis. We both sold up and headed out to sea, with the goal of sailing around the world via Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope. We brought our mixed rescue dog along with us as she loves sailing and swimming too! Our boat is a year 2000 J Boats J/46. We searched for 3 years for our perfect sailboat for sale, when we found it, we knew it was the one. We spent 6 months re-fitting it in Rhode Island and then went for our shakedown voyage in Maine. We stopped in Annapolis for a bit to do some more refit work and offshore modifications, then we set off to the open sea. We went to the Bahamas, Miami, US Virgin Islands, BVI, Grenada, Carriacou, St. Maarten, where we enjoyed outdoor adventures, scuba diving, and have now did an Atlantic Crossing to the Azores where we had a chance to fly our DJI drone (and learned how to fly a drone from a boat) and one of our favorite past times, mountain biking. After leaving the Azores we sailed to Tenerife. From there we have left on a huge voyage, transatlantic again, this time to South America as we head for our goal of rounding cape horn to enter the pacific ocean.
