We take a break from sailing and boat work to enjoy our first week in a port. With only a one-person bike as transportation, it is quite an adventure exploring the town. We are off! Our first sail away from our home port. First to Port St. Joe and then to Apalachicola. We have a rocky and rainy night while side tied to a dock. Then a sunny sail across Lake Wimico. Our final video before we set sail down the gulf coast! We have to finish the solar so we are self sustainable. We need to install safety net for the dogs as they get their sea legs. And finally, we get to rename the boat. In the next video, we head to Port St. Joe and then on to Apalachicola as we make moves toward a gulf crossing. We rip out the old galley sink and install a new one. Finally got around to fixing the autopilot after it broke on the first day. After install, we find ourselves with more engine troubles and needing a tow back to shore. We also pack our "ditch bag" for emergency preparedness. We have a lot to cover! We thoroughly prepped our boat for Hurricane Ian only for it to make landfall just south of our location. We have to put the boat back together while moving onto it, selling our little sailboats, and hosting a few visitors. Subscribe and join us in the next video to finish up boat projects and head towards the Gulf of Mexico!

In our first of many boat projects to come, we remove our marine head (toilet), hoses, and holding tank. Then, we bring aboard a composting head for install. All while getting to know our boat and our home marina. Next video we will begin to prep for Hurricane Ian so stay tuned! Feel free to subscribe so you can be notified when we post next.

We take our boat from Pensacola to Panama City where we will begin to prepare for full time cruising in November 2022. We enjoyed this sail because it was in waters we were familiar with, having sailed in our 22 ft boat previously (from Freeport, Fl to Gulf Shores, AL and back). Although this time we were coming through with a much taller mast which had us just a bit nervous. Please like and subscribe! We take a two week break from sailing Holly Belle to take more sailing lessons in Hawaii. We experience sailing in the open ocean for the first time, sailing to another island, sailing in high seas, and more. With our certification in ASA 103 and 104 complete, we look forward to getting back to our boat and using the skills learned. Next time on Sailing Holly Belle : we'll show you where we have sailed to in order to prepare our boat for full time living and working.

Throwback to our first ever experience as sailors. We had a great Captain showing us the ropes! Shout out to Victor and his fantastic sailboat, our experience learning on Lake Pleasant in Arizona was great. We spent many lake days on our Chrysler 22 before deciding to beat the heat and move across the country. We had no idea the future we had in sailing but we were excited for (whatever it was) to come.

Our first few nights and cruise on our sailboat in Pensacola, FL. Meet Holly Belle, our soon to be home on the water. The journey officially begins in November and we are working towards getting her geared up! While we only have a year of sailing experience, we look forward to learning new things every step of the way. We are so excited to share the ups, downs, and in-betweens with you.
