Although Catalina Yachts did a great job designing the boat many years ago, I found some improvements to make. Check out my remodel work done to the boat. I added a urinal in the boat which is a great alternative to a head with a holding tank. I built additional space for a mini fridge and freezer as well as a fold down table that doubles as a work desk. My custom boat mattress sits on a larger bed platform than original and I have shore power to charge my battery and power my fridge, heater, and lights. Water from the harbor with a Seaflow water pump, and of course the best feature of the Catalina 25 is the pop top. Easy to use, provides good air flow and enough head room to stand up in. I can't imagine living on a small sailboat any better than on this one! Hope you enjoy the tour.

Owner Greg Stewart has maintained 'Sprig' to be as beautiful now as she ever has been. She carries her original 3 spreader, 1 jumper rig and bright finish boom. Besides being taken down to bare wood inside and out, Sprig received full length epoxy soaked e-glass splines.This method has been successfully employed for 30 years by many Pacific Coast (PC) Class boats in San Diego. She has 3 cockpits and not even the helmsman gets a seat. Sprig travelled to Seattle in 2001 and 2002 for the Lipton Cup and North Americans and was always in the hunt. She placed second in the 2002 Lipton Cup and 4th in the 2002 North Americans. Sprig is very active in the San Diego Ancient Mariner events and is based at San Diego Yacht Club. Sprig received a new deck and other refurbishment and was relaunched in October 2005. Sprig is the most far-flung member of the Puget Sound Six Meter Association and competed at the 2009 World Cup in Newport, Rhode Island. In order to qualify for the Baum + Koenig Trophy at the 2009 Worlds, Sprig ordered a full suit of Dacron sails to replace her modern versions. In more recent years Sprig has competed in San Diego with that vibrant group of mixed Classic yachts. Greg also took Sprig up to San Francisco Bay for the 2015 St Francis Yacht Club Invitational and the 2016 North American Championships. Good Tidings is ready to sail away for more adventures however there are a few bits and bobs that would make her perfect or ideal for a DIY entususiast. The hull although structurally sound has some scuffs and scrapes from dirty fenders and it could do with a good polish. It was sand blasted, painted and resin shielded about 6 years ago so although in some places a bit scruffy, its very solid. The deck paint could also do with going over as its looking a bit tired in places. And the 'foamy teak' is also looking a bit tired in places. this coud be neatened up or taken off and repainted.
