Es ist ein Stahlschiff von der Feltz-Werft in sehr sehr gutem Zustand, allerdings mit wirklich besonderen Eigenschaften... Beispielsweise ist es ein Kimmkieler mit jeweils einem Motor IN den Kielen. Alles ist sehr massiv konstruiert und das Schiff macht auf uns den Eindruck, als ob es sich im Mittelmeer einfach langweilt. Damit kann man sicherlich in kältere und stürmischere Regionen dieser Erde segeln. Dafür ausgerüstet ist es jedenfalls. Wer weiß - möglicherweise macht das auch jemand damit, denn Conny und Martin wollen es verkaufen, ihre eigene Auszeit per Segelboot neigt sich dem Ende. However, describing the SC37 as a “keelboat” isn’t really accurate. This is a 37-foot lightweight carbon raceboat with horsepower to burn. Its high aspect-ratio torpedo bulb keel provides plenty of stiffness by getting the lead bulb 7 feet, 6 inches below the waterline; it also fully retracts with a powerful winch or optional hydraulic ram. The bulb comes up nearly flush with the hull to ease trailering and even make launching from a ramp possible (instead of having to line up for the crane). Here’s my take-away from a test drive that took place in a building breeze at the mouth of the Severn River, off Annapolis, Maryland. Construction Both the hull and deck are built with carbon-fiber fabrics, epoxy resin, and a structural PVC foam core, over a layer of isophthalic gelcoat in the mold. Hello Everyone! Here it is! A tour of our beautiful home and all of her special features:) Hope you enjoy it and let us know what you think!! We give an in depth DETAILED show of the boat and our favorite areas. The boat was built in 1987 by Tradewinds in the Young Sun shipyard in Taiwan. The deck length is 42.7, but with the bow sprit and dingy davits on the stern it has an overall length of 50’. It has a fiberglass hull, about an inch thick with teak exterior and interior. Our dad had taken some really good jobs, and with the money he was making/ saving he wanted to buy his dream sailboat and sail around the pacific. He had researched for a few years, multiple yards, on the best built boats specific to the sailing he wanted to do. He also wanted to take possession of the boat after it was completed at the yard rather than it being delivered to the USA first, which most companies required. He had certain specifications on the layout of the boat, like the extra head in the back rather than another birth, the thick reinforced stainless steal dingy davits on the stern, as well as a few smaller things. We had a lot of fun making our video and hope you have just as much fun watching it.
