Here is a yacht that will give you and possibly your mates options. Pearl very kindly invited me back for a sea trial of the 95 which unfortunatley gor cancelled due to the weather but I was still able to spend a few hours touring and discovering this 30m yacht that could be perfect for some of you guys stepping into your first fully crewed vessel. I first discovered Pearl Yachts at the Cannes Boat Show last year when I had a tour of the 62 and 95 in their range. I was fortunate to be invited on the press day for this new Pearl Yachts 72 over in Palma, Mallorca which is an amazing little island in the Med and part of Spain. This British brand is taking the competition to Princess and Sunseeker by producing a very high quality build at a cheaper price by utilizing their manufacturing facility in China. I've seen this before with an Australian Whitehaven Yachts built in Taiwan and I have to say they have come out with an excellent product that does meet the European brands head on in terms of quality. Sure it won't have the brand recognition that Princess & Sunseeker enjoy in Australia but the cost savings are real and the argument to put a vessel like this into charter is also a solid one. This classic 50 motor yacht was built in 1965 by the Hatteras Yachts Company in High Point, North Carolina.Incredible was the name christened her by Hatteras marketing department. Custom Wood-Mode cherry wood cabinets, provided space and amenities trending today in home kitchen design. The added granite countertops turn this personal workspace into a model of beauty and efficiency. The heads, stripped to the bare bones, would take on a more contemporary upscale design that can only be described as functional art.Custom Wood-Mode cabinets, topped with quartz countertops, showcase precision craftsmanship, practical storage and exquisite beauty. She has two 2006 (NEW AT THE TIME) Cummins engines increasing total power from 700 hp to 860 hp.The increased horse power increased cruising speed from 11 to 16 knots and top speed from 13 to 19 knots. The retrofit included a 15 kw generator, ACs, all electronics by Raymarine, an entertainment center, all appliances, windows, updated electrical and lighting throughout, and the addition of stabilizers are just a few of her improvements. It's a slooped rigged, full keel monohull sailboat that's acquired a ton of character over the last half century! As well, this is Huub's humble home upon the sea. Three years ago, Huub went to Guatemala, found this boat that was supposedly ready to sail. He fell in love with it a bit quickly. And then found out after he paid $18,000, it was more ready to sink than sail. But he did not quit! After no shortage of blood, sweat & tears. His sheer grit & determination won through. Eventually he made this sailboat just ready enough to sail all the way out of Guatemala, to Jamaica, and throughout the Eastern Caribbean. Even though he has no life raft or emergency equipment. A testament to his conviction to become a true sailor. Something most could never do. This GS34 PERFORMANCE VERSION has been lightly raced and also fine-tuned and tweaked by an experienced owner who has done well in a few races with podium finishes. Recent PHRF and ORC rating certificates available. The design and naval architecture process have been realized with great attention. The aim was to create an offshore racing boat that is both easy to sail at maximum performance and a very comfortable fast cruiser. The GS 34 Performance, with an improved sail plan and appendages, has been designed for IRC handicap rating in offshore races and for ORC and PHRF.
