Powered by twin Yamaha 425 XTOs she cruises easily at 30 knots with a top speed of 40 knots and can comfortably make 25 knots into a 4-5 foot head sea with an impressively smooth, dry ride. The foil assisted catamaran design handles rough water from any direction due to additional lift of the foil as well as the overall hull shape. Vandal claims the foiling reduces fuel consumption by up to 25-30%, and helps give the vessel a range of around 240 nautical miles. Unlike most open boats and center consoles of similar size the Vandal Explorer 46 has a full flybridge and carries a 3.2M RIB Tender (10.5') complete with a 9.9 Yamaha 4 stroke and integrated davit.
