This Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 from 2019 not only offers superb comfort both inside and out, but also great performance thanks to her light but strong construction. Her main features are the wide hydraulic up/down platform to launch the dinghy, and her huge lounging areas; the topside sundeck atop the coach roof, the forward lounge, and the spacious covered aft cockpit. The helm station is well protected by a bimini, offers great visibility and is quickly accessible from the aft deck. She is very well equipped with two 75 hp Volvo Penta diesel engines, generator, water maker, integrated solar panels, Garmin navigation package including radar, dinghy with outboard, life raft, underwater lighting, hydraulic gangway, etc. A wide sliding glass door separates the outside from the inside of this Fountaine Pajot Saba 50. The saloon is bathed in natural light through the panoramic windows and overhead hatches. Especially the galley with centre island is enviable. This Saba is an owner’s version. The port hull features the master stateroom with an island berth, a small desk, enough storage space, and an ensuite bathroom. This stateroom takes up about three quarters of the port hull, which still leaves room for a full guest cabin and ensuite head forward. The starboard hull has two ample guest staterooms fore and aft both with ensuite bathroom and a crew cabin amidships with own head. What are you going to use the boat for? Nach Sonnenuntergang wird es immer dramatischer, ich beobachte 28 kn Wind und MariaNoa zerrt sehr an der Mooring, da wir vollkommen ungeschützt der Brandung ausgesetzt sind. An Schlaf ist erneut nicht zu denken. Nennt es Intuition oder Paranoia. Ich habe den Ankeralarm angemacht. Und dieser springt dann tatsächlich um 02:30 an. Ich springe an Deck und mag meinen Augen nicht trauen. Die Insel ist nicht mehr da, wo sie eben noch war. Die Mooring ist gebrochen und wir treiben in pechschwarzer Nacht mit hoher Geschwindigkeit in ein Gebiet, das für seine Untiefen und Korallenköpfe bekannt ist. Deckslicht an und schnell unsere Leinen und die Reste der daran hängenden Mooring an Deck gezogen. Wir zerschneiden uns an dem Muschel besetzten Tau Hände, Beine und Füße – Blut überall. Erst dann können die Motoren gestartet werden. Wir fahren zurück auf unsere Trackingline des Vortages. Hier sind wir sicher, denn hier sind wir schon einmal durchgekommen. Es ist stockdunkel. Wir fahren rein nach Instrumenten in einem Revier in dem mit Nachdruck gute Sicht Voraussetzung ist. Nach 2 ½ Stunden gehen wir beim ersten Morgenlicht hinter South Long Cocoa Island vor Anker. Brigitta war natürlich erst einmal vollkommen überrascht, obwohl eine Weltumsegelung wesentlich besser in Ihr berufliches Leben als Vorruheständlerin passte als in meins. In den letzten 6 Monaten hat Sie aber eine erstaunliche Entwicklung hinter sich gebracht und freut sich auf unser großes Abenteuer genau wie ich.
