Delivered in 1952 at Uljanik shipyard in Pula, Croatia, SEAGULL II is an important part of yachting history. Part of the "Six Poets" series by the Croatian shipyard, her name comes from Croatian author Vladimir Nazor. Initially used as a cruised ship, in 2004-2005 she saw a major rebuild that transformed her into a luxury motor yacht. She boasts the looks of an 'old-timer' combined with interiors that call back to past times and feature elements of Art Nouveau. SEAGULL II is a classic, elegant and spacious motor yacht, with an ocean liner appearance. She has proven to be a successful charter yacht with Bono Vox and Henrik Christian the crown prince of Denmark counted among her famous guests. The large upper deck spaces boast comfortable dining areas with a classic style. Her bridge deck, now outfitted with a hot tub and generous sunbathing areas, is a favourite spot for relaxation. On the technical side, SEAGULL II is a testimony of the early 1930s. Her rebuild includes late Art Nouveau decoration and a large number of artworks of the same period. Columns, friezes and handrails create a recognizable visual tone throughout. High-quality resistant carpets cover all floors in the salons and dining areas. Tongue-and-groove plywood, covered with Alcantar, cover all ceilings. One notable feature is a collection of three guest salons and an Owner's salon, linked by an elegant spiral wooden staircase. Her 7-stateroom layout is also a state-of-the-art creation. On the lower deck, the Master suite features two spacious Queen staterooms. These rooms are linked by a private salon that evokes the atmosphere of a Gentlemen's Club. Three additional staterooms located on the same deck complete the layout. The new HH44 a luxury, high-performance cat for cruising families and couples sailing long distance with a focus on alternative energy. Construction is a carbon-reinforced, foam composite sandwich with infused epoxy resin. The boat’s entire skeleton—bulkheads, beams, hulls, deck—is carbon fiber, with external e-glass, also epoxy infused. Daggerboards, mast, and rudders are also carbon. Twin helm placement in the cockpit let designers lower the coachroof. This lowered boom height, which translates into a lower center of effort and the ability to put more power into the sails. It also allows for a whopping 4,232 watts of solar panels on the coachroof as standard, serving a 43.2 KwH 48V lithium battery bank. This solar array is key to the primary design driver—the boat’s EcoDrive parallel hybrid propulsion system. The 3-cabin layout features an owner-dedicated starboard hull with master stateroom, extra storage, and large head with separate stall shower. The staterooms aft on both sides have custom mattresses and I use some regular sheets and custom sheets. I have converted all the heads in the boat to fresh water flushing. I have had the cushions recovered in the main salon. The bilge light on the electric panel only showed a pump on. Seit einem halben Jahr hat sich das geändert, geraten wir von einem Gefahrenbereich zum nächsten. The new Seawind 1170, at 39 feet on the smaller end of the company’s range, is designed to be easily managed by a couple but also built fully ocean-worthy as a CE Category A multihull. The interior design is based in what Seawind has found to be proven brand characteristics—twin helms protected in the cockpit with direct communication to the salon, a clever trifold door that can lift into the overhead to fully open the space between salon and cockpit, galley down to allow maximum space for the salon, including a spacious nav station, large windows all around with sturdy opening windows forward for ventilation, and collision bulkheads. Where things have been updated are in the hulls themselves with a reverse bow for better upwind capability, a step in the topsides to allow more interior volume—especially in the aft cabins—and more headroom throughout. Composite and structural engineering is by New Zealand-based Gurit, who also engineered the 1160 and 1260. All the tooling is new; hulls are fully infused with vinylester resin, and carbon reinforces key structural areas to minimize weight while enhancing performance. The first few hulls were built at Seawind’s operation in Vietnam, but the tooling has been shipped to a new, 56,000-foot facility and customer service center on the Aegean Sea in Turkey, where the 1170 is now being built. @SeawindCatamarans
