Recorded in February 2024 ** ** This boat is not for sale ** This Oyster 485 is in great condition throughout and underwent a huge refit/update from 2020 to 2022. Her current owners, who bought Rhapsody with us in June 2022, sailed her from Spain to her new home in Florida, USA and have therefore dotted all the i’s and crossed all the t’s to make her even more crossing-proof. Countless items, both technical as optical, and both outside as inside, have been renewed and re-built. For instance, the standing rigging has been completely renewed and 80% of the running rigging has been replaced. Also, the main sail and the head sails were renewed. Furthermore, she has a new generator, new folding prop, new aircon, new electric toilets, new bow thruster, various new covers, etc. etc. Further to that, equipped with a reconditioned 100hp diesel engine, davits, new life raft, refurbished and partly renewed navigation equipment, etc. Under deck of this Oyster 485 are two well-appointed cabins on either end of the boat. Both cabins have their own head compartment which gives all guests on board great privacy. The master cabin aft has been completely rebuilt in 2022 including new mattresses and cushions. The spacious saloon and the walk-through galley are comfortable living areas and contain loads of storage space. Why is she for sale? The owners reluctantly must face the fact that age and ill-health mean that they can no longer safely sail the boat of their dreams. Da abweichende Winde der vorherrschenden NNO-Strömung nicht zu erwarten sind, muss ein Schwoien auch nicht besonders berücksichtigt werden. Man kann windgeschützt in Lee der Inseln ankern oder aber zwischen den Riffen schwell- aber nicht windgeschützt. Segeln Die Distanzen zwischen den Inseln sind gering, sodass die Anchorage jeweils in Minuten bis zu einer Stunden gewechselt werden kann. Die Segel setzen wir nur vereinzelt - es lohnt sich eigentlich nicht. Weil wir sie für die Pazifikpassage testen wollen, machen wir uns jdoch trotzdem die Mühe. Das kann hektisch werden, denn nach dem z.T. widrigen Setzen unseres Großsegels, kann dieses unmittelbar wieder geborgen werden. Wir sind nämlich schon fast da. Zu Testzecken versuchen wir sogar den Parasailor zu setzen. Für das Klarieren einer vertörnten Leine, ist jedoch keine Zeit und wir brechen ab. Versorgung Die Versorgungslage in den San-Blas-Inseln ist, sagen wir mal, nicht existent - zumindest wenn man einen Supermarkt, Baumarkt oder eine Tankstelle vor Augen hat. Hieraus machen die Kuna ihr Geschäftsmodell. Sie versorgen die ankernden Boote mit Ihren Einbäumen oder Landchas mit Obst und Gemüse, Lobster, Fisch und Riesenkrabben, sogar mit Diesel und Wasser.
