As many of you all know the Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 is a boat both Laura and I love sailing on. We've been fortunate enough to sail the Helia all over the East Coast, Bahamas, and Caribbean. This particular Helia 44 is without a doubt one of the nicest Helia 44's I've been on in quite sometime. The owners have done a phenomenal job in not just maintaining her, but also upgrading her over time. For more details on the boat check out the link below: https://bit.ly/FPHelia44Gratitude Some of her key features include: - Factory installed bowsprit w/ cruising spinnaker - Aftermaket solar installation - Bow thruster - Generator - Air conditioning - Square top main - Watermaker - Almost new Highfield tender Contact me for more details on the boat. ► Full test in Multihulls World 185: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/tanna-47-comfort-performance-amp-ease-of-handling ► Presented for the first time at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival, the Tanna 47 is a successful and intelligent redesign of the Saona 47. The overall characteristics - rig, displacement and deck layout – all remain identical, but the nacelle has been reworked to feature new furniture with softer angles, larger overhead windows, but most importantly, a new galley – gone is the central island, but there’s now an extra 10.6 cubic feet (300 liters) of storage space. Like the latest models in Fountaine Pajot’s sailing range, the Tanna 47 has a lounger right next to the chart table. A perfect place for the watchkeeper... but also for relaxing. Outside, behind the raised helm station, the lounge area has doubled in size. A large area of solar panels (50 to 100 sq ft / 5 to 9 m²) can be fitted. We were able to sail aboard her for a world premiere in La Rochelle. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Fountaine Pajot Architect: Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design Hull length: 45’9” (13.94 m) Beam: 25’3” (7.70 m) Draft: 3’11” (1.20 m) Displacement: 32,400 lbs (14.7 t) Mainsail: 830 sq ft (77 m²) Genoa: 560 sq ft (52 m²) Engine: 2 x 50 or 60 HP Fuel: 2 x 124 US gal (2 x 470 l) Water: 2 79 US gal (2 x 300 l) Cabins: 3 or 4 ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! We continue our tour of the Beneteau Oceanis 41 interior. Beneteau Oceanis sailboats stand for predictable mass-market characteristics. You can find them for charter in almost any European port. This Beneteau Ozeanis 41 from 2014 (as opposed to the newer Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 starting in 2015) is a safe choice when you want to spend some time on the water. ► Full test in Multihulls World #184: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/aura-51-seductive-but-not-over-the-top ► Announced at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival as the New 51, the replacement for the Saba 50 is finally in the water! Without wishing to reveal too much at the preview, the builder was kind enough to tell us the name of this catamaran – the Aura 51. Like a certain Athena 38 launched in 1994, the Aura 51 does not have an island name... but keeps an “a” at the end. The first example has lines very much in keeping with the latest Berret/Racoupeau designed catamarans such as the Samana 59. The superstructure is refined, the bows inverted and the sail plan powerful – this is necessary to compensate for the increased displacement. The builder has also kept the double sail maneuvering station/helm at mid-height. As for the innovations to be found aboard, there’s a very large opening between the nacelle and the cockpit with the galley unit going through to the external part, and the possibility of installing 2,000 Wp of solar panels. The Aura 51 underwent seatrials during a winter sailing trip in Brittany - an opportunity for the shipyard to record average speeds often exceeding 10 knots in good breezes and to organize an original photo shoot even though the water temperature was chilly... Highly anticipated on the market, the Aura 51 will undoubtedly be the main competitor to the Lagoon 51. Multihull enthusiasts will probably have to wait for Cannes Yachting Festival to discover these two models together at the same boat show, as the Aura 51 will not be on display at the International Multihull Show. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Fountaine Pajot Architects: Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design Length: 51 ft (15.54 m) Beam: 26.5 ft (8.08 m) Light displacement: 18.1 t Draft: 4.26 ft (1.3 m) Mainsail: 1,023 ft² (95 m²) Genoa: 635 ft² (59 m²) Engines: 2 x 60 HP or 2 x 75 HP Fuel: 2 x 118 US gal (2 x 450 l) Water: 237 US gal (900 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Sleek hull shape, sharp lines, a premium MirageDrive that offers forward and reverse with Kick-up fin tech, loads of cargo space and massive room to accessorize. The Compass hull is roto-molded allowing it to have sharp lines and features as well as being incredible durable. Hull shape is narrow and sleek up forward allowing it to cut through the water easily and quietly, just under the seat the hull has buoyancy at its edges maximizing stability but still narrow enough to be easily paddled and fast through the water. in the tail the Compass hull is very wide making for a large cargo area but the bottom side the hull is a multi-hull design that minimizes drag and sheds water but has plenty of secondary capacity for times when you load up the rear cargo area with gear or a pet. This model has been in our line up for a few years but has seen changes and upgrades each year. New is a lighter and more comfortable seatback. Other notable features are a responsive rudder that is cleanly nested under the back of the hull and folds up and springs back into place if you get into shallow water or obstacles. Forward cargo area with mesh cover, this is a handy place to store items and the cover keeps them secured easily and quickly. Accessory mounting tracks on each side of the user, easy to mount any extra accessories to without needing to drill and mount any bases. See for yourself: https://www.hobie.com/kayaks/mirage-compass/
► Full test in Multihulls World Special Edition #18: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/catamaran/sunreef-80-eco-directly-under-the-sun ► Sunreef Yachts has just launched the first example of its new Eco range. Though this might be an 80-footer, it is equipped with very advanced ecological technology, with the aim of envisaging cruising that’s entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy, that’s non-polluting, and silent... all without forgoing the luxury common to every Sunreef catamaran. The 80 Eco is capable, as announced, of supplying up to 36 kWp thanks to its innovative solar panels (ultralight, they are integrated into the hulls, the mast, the superstructures and the bimini). The electric propulsion is provided by twin 180 kW motors. Under sail, the Sunreef 80 Eco produces energy from the rotation of its two propellers. This hydrogeneration system is capable of producing more than 15 kWh when sailing at over 7 knots. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Sunreef Yachts Design: Sunreef Yachts Length: 78’4” (23.87 m) Beam: 37’10” (11.53 m) Mainsail: 2,155 sq ft (200 m²) Genoa: 1,670 sq ft (155 m²) Motors: 2 x 180 kW Generators: 2 x Volvo D3 80kW Batteries: 300 kWh Solar panels: up to 36 kWp Fuel: 2 x 317 or 792 US gal (2 x 1,200 or 3,000 l) Water: 422 US gal (1,600 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! ► Full test in Multihulls World #183: https://www.multihulls-world.com/essais/catamaran/kinetic-kc54-the-catamaran-of-the-future ► Following on from the very successful KC62, Kinetic Catamarans has just launched a particularly racy 54-footer. This new model sees the sail handling station in the same position as her bigger sister – in the forward cockpit. She also features the forward door. The fineness of the hulls gives exceptional performance. As for the strongly inverted bows, these show evidence of recent evolutions in offshore racing… The ambition of the KC54 is precisely to offer the speed of a racer while maintaining the ease of handling of a comfortable cruiser… A challenge that’s been taken up, according to the first assessment of our journalist Domonique Salandre, who was able to sail the 54 in Annapolis. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Kinetic Catamarans Length: 54’2” (16.5 m) Beam: 27’11” (8.5 m) Lightship displacement: 35,825 lbs (16.25 t) Draft: 4’7”’/10’2” (1.40/3.10 m) Mainsail: 979 / 1,100 sq ft (91/102 m²) Solent: 613 / 645 sq ft (57/60 m²) Engines: 2 x 80 HP Fuel capacity: 264 US gal (1,000 l) Water capacity: 264 US gal (1,000 l) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Very light but habitable, the 57 promises exceptional performance – in a good breeze with a relatively slight sea, she should be capable of holding a 20-knot average over many hours. Full test in Multihulls World #183: https://www.multihulls-world.com/essais/moteur/leopard-46-pc-space-and-volume-first Robertson & Caine, with 30 years of experience in the powercat business, are launching a catamaran that’s larger and more comfortable than the 43PC – which is being dropped from the catalog. The new 46 borrows the design of her bigger sistership, the 53 PC. The hulls have been designed from the outset start as motorboat hulls. These feature very large lateral windows, while the forward windows of the coachroof are vertical in order to integrate the forward door more easily - all these windows are made in tempered glass for maximum clarity and to give good longevity. Inside, the new matt beige finish replaces the former gloss white. The 46 will be available in a 3 or 4-cabin version with special attention having been paid to comfort: wide, comfortable berths accessible from the side, increased floor space and improved interior lighting. The two engines – either 250, 320 or 370 HP - are completely isolated from the living area. With the boat in lightship condition, with the most powerful engine configuration, the maximum speed is 25 knots - 20 knots when fully loaded. The range varies from 250 miles to 1,500 miles depending on the speed. Full test in Multihulls World #183: https://www.multihulls-world.com/essais/moteur/aquila-28-molokai-sport-fishing-for-the-family Aquila may be one of the leaders in the powercat market, but the brand isn’t intending on resting on its laurels. After the imposing Aquila 70 Luxury yacht catamaran, the builder is expanding its range of small boats with the Aquila 28 Molokai. This catamaran inaugurates the new offshore range, which should soon include larger models. Until now, the American/Chinese company had no involvement in the open catamaran fishing sector, a field dominated by brands like World Cat, Invincible and many others. But now it is, as the 28 Molokai is indeed a fishing boat and has all the required attributes. As is typically the case, Aquila doesn’t do things the same way as everyone else... To design its new model, the shipyard sought inspiration from Hawaii, and more particularly from the architect Kirk Clark, a true figure of naval design in this Pacific Ocean archipelago. It is also from one of these tropical islands that the name of the boat is taken. The first thing that strikes you is the very square aspect of the catamaran, with a totally straight bow and a deck line that shows almost no undulation, except at the stern, where the profile softens to reach the bathing platform. The beam remains fairly moderate at 9’7” (2.93 m), which opens the doors to “normal” marina slips for the Molokai. The bows are as sharp as a Japanese sword: their profile is somewhat reminiscent of the Aquila 32 and 36, but are much finer. Next, because of a very narrow foredeck perched on high bows, the boat offers an airy and very sporty look. It even evokes the world of performance racing catamarans. Last but not least, a long, fake window is painted on the hull on both sides to recall the design of the other models of the brand. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Manufacturer: Aquila (China) Designer: Kirk Clark (USA) Overall length: 30’9’’ (9.38 m) Waterline length: 28’2’’ (8.60 m) Beam: 9’8½’’ (2.96 m) Draft: 2’6’’ (0.77 m) Unladen weight: 6,166 lbs (2.8 t) Fuel: 2 x 75 US gal (2 x 285 l) Water: 16 US gal (60 l) Max power: 2 x 200 HP Recommended power: 2 x 150 HP People: 11 (USA) Sleeping accommodation: 0 CE Category: B #Aquila #AquilaCatamaran #AquilaBoat #Aquila28 #Aquila28Molokai #Powercat #DominicSalander Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! ► Full test in Multihulls World #183: https://www.multihulls-world.com/essais/catamaran/nautitech-44-open-a-true-cruising-catamaran ► The all-new Nautitech 44 has met her first challenge: to splash just 14 months after the project was launched. Although the manufacturer has abandoned the charter market, revised its production objectives downward, to 50 catamarans per year instead of 80, and set up a single production line for its five models, the launch of the Nautitech 44 brought together a panel of a dozen owners and dealers to define the specifications for this new catamaran, that was then developed in the form of three digital models, which were tested using virtual reality. This was unprecedented for such a design, which nevertheless, remains faithful to Marc Lombard (who has already designed all the other Nautitech models) and to the manufacturer's DNA – a short nacelle, open saloon/cockpit concept, twin helm stations set out on the hulls (these now being protected by a small bimini, as on board the Excess range). For the interior, Christophe Chedal-Anglay - who previously worked for Gunboat - was responsible for the design. Note there’s a huge, forward-facing chart table and the option of a smart room, a laundry room/workshop that will be appreciated by those going cruising long-term. The new model was previewed at the Miami International Boat Show - that's where we got to test it. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Nautitech Catamarans Overall length: 43'8” (13.30 m) Beam: 24'2” (7.36 m) Draft: 4’9” (1.45 m) Displacement: 23,590 lbs (10.7 t) Sail area: 1,142 sq ft (106.1 m²) Engines: 2 x 30 HP Fuel: 2 x 66 US gal (2 x 250 l) Fresh water: 2 x 79 US gal (2 x 300 l) CE Certification: A10 - B10 - C22 - D22 ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! The compromises made are usually for usability. For example the Beneteau arch keeps the cockpit clear of lines and protected from the elements. The missing main sheet traveler is the price you pay for that… I am NOT in any way AFFILIATED with Beneteau Yachts. All the things said represent only my opinion. ALL information presented here is correct to my best knowledge and is meant only for reference purposes.
